Jon strutted into school that morning, feeling on top of the world. She knew she looked like a million bucks, and she felt like it, relishing the way all the other eyes in the hallway traveled over her luscious curves, beautifully showed off by her dress. It was so empowering to be beautiful and now that she actually was, the sensation was hitting her like a high she didn't want to end. She wiggled her hips just a bit extra as she passed some oggling freshmen, for once loving being the center of attention. She was walking in with Tiff and Ambs, who'd she'd met up with at the entrance, chatting happily. Her new friends were just SO nice, and she kept forgetting they weren't really supposed to be her friends.
She caught just a glimpse of a glowering Biff at the end of the hallway, before the dumb jock saw her coming and made himself scarce. She beamed, showing off her lovely smile. For once in her life, Biff was the one who turned and ran away from her. After countless times ducking into random classrooms to dodge a swirly when the jerk was on a warpath, having so much power over the oaf made her giddy.
"So, you ready to break the new girl's in this afternoon?" Tiff asked from her left as they made their way to homeroom. The first Cheer practice since break was happening that day, which was why Sarah and Jon had trained so hard the day before. Jon and the rest of the core squad would be bringing in the members of the JV squad, sophomores for the most part, who would be hopping up to varsity with them next year. (In the original reality that existed before Karyn got the stone, Tiffany had been making inroads with those new girls to secure the votes to steal the captain position from Sarah, but now she'd never dream of doing that to her bestie.)
Jon flicked her hair with confidence, "please, I've been doing cheer since I was six. I think I can handle showing a couple sophomore's the ropes." It wasn't really true, Sarah was the one with the long history of cheer and the trophies on the shelf to prove it. Right now though, I'm the one with the body that can do the routines. I'm the one who falls asleep in the room with those trophies. I'M the talented one. She was more than a little afraid she was going to embarrass or even hurt herself at practice, considering she'd only had the one day or preparation, but she'd quickly learned the most important part of keeping up her all important Sarah facade, was to project confidence at all times. Jon Gibson was hesitant, second guessing himself all the time and worried about offending people. Sarah McMillan walked into every room like she owned it, and didn't take shit from anyone.
Still, at the end of the day, school was school. The social side of Lakeview Academy was a whole new world in her golden haired new body, but the academic side hadn't really changed much. Sarah wasn't a braniac honor roll student like his sometimes rival Lily Vanderfield, but he also wasn't a sterotypical bimbo. He'd been taking a mix of honors and on-level courses and earning a mix of A's and B's, and sure, he'd occasionally charmed someone else to do his homework, but that was from having better things to do, not a lack of ability.
In all, Jon found herself slotting pretty easily into her new schedule. It helped that she shared two classes with Sarah in her old body, who seemed as grumpy as Jon was giddy that morning in Math. The biggest change was her electives, going from taking Computer Science and Shop to taking Dance and Yearbook. Dance was surprisingly easy and surprisingly fun; just like with her cheer routines, if she got out of her body's way, it seemed to know what it was doing, and her mind quickly caught up. She actually had rhythm now and it turned dancing in front of others from nerve racking to exciting. Yearbook was hardly a class, more an excuse for girls in Sarah's social circle to hang out on class time. They were responsible for putting the yearbook together, but this far into the year their work was mostly done, so it was largely a chance to goof off and gossip.
DING DING DING!
The bell rang, signalling she'd made it to lunch. She rose from her desk and smoothed out her dress before grabbing her purse and clacking her heels along to the lunchroom. The McMillan's chef had been spoiling her the last three days a little bit, so she couldn't help but be a bit disappointed with her lunchroom salad, but then again lunch was more about socializing for her now than shoveling food into her mouth. She was on a mission today after all.
The popular table had basically had a bomb dropped on it when she dramatically dumped Biff the previous day, and once again today, Biff, Steve, Mike Matthews and Lily Vanderfield were conspicuously choosing to eat on the other side of the cafeteria. Jon let out a little hmph. They looked pitiful, seperated from the rest of the popular kids, and she had no doubt the three who weren't Biff would eventually come crawling back. Especially Steve, who Tiffany assured her she was currently withholding sex from until he stopped taking the cheater Biff's side.
Her place of honor was waiting for her, but she had something she needed to do first. Scanning the room, she saw who she was looking for. At her old table, with Leonard, Kyla, Gladys, Sarah in her old body and an empty chair where Jay should have sat, she saw Karyn. The redhead was just as gorgeous as she remembered, so massively out of her league. Jon paused to look down at herself and readjusted her dress clad breasts to best show off her cleavage. At least, out of my league before this weekend. The other girl, who was stunning even in the plain black fitted tee shirt and jeans she wore, had always seemed out of place at the losers table and Jon was going to rectify that.
Steadfastly ignoring the real Sarah, who was staring daggers at her for coming over to the loser's table in the middle of lunch instead of just sitting down with the popular crowd like Sarah normally would, she strutted straight over to Karyn. "Hey, Karyn, why don't you come sit with us today? I'd love to catch up, and the girls are really eager to get to know you better."
Karyn looked surprised, Gladys and Leonard were perplexed, Sarah was pissed, and Kyla was DUMBFOUNDED. Karyn opened her mouth then closed it, then asked, "are you sure, uh, Sarah?"
Jon reached down and grabbed the other girl's wrist, the thrill of her new body and life giving her the reckless confidence she'd always lacked. "I'm absolutely sure, now c'mon silly!" She dragged Karyn along to sit next to her, on the other side from Tiffany. Sure, Karyn Black and Sarah McMillan suddenly being all buddy buddy got some stares, and even a few glares, but like she'd suspected, most people seemed to accept it. Yesterday she'd been sure to say several times, so the rumor would spread, that Biff had pressured her into being mean or keeping her distance from people he didn't like, so the majority seemed to chalk it up to her defying him now that they were no longer together. Was it probably unfair to shift all the blame onto Biff, when the original Sarah was just as much a bully in his own right? Sure, but there was almost nobody Jon hated more than Biff Meadows, and she was fully embracing Karyn's suggestion that she become the Sarah she always wished existed in the first place.
Besides, her friends on the squad immediately accepted her decision and started warming up to Karyn immediately. She reached over and patted Karyn's thigh, giving the girl a smile and noticing she looked a little flushed. Probably just a little overwhelmed by all her new friends. I am SO good at this social queen bee thing!
