Over the next two weeks the pamphlet and Stephanie’s offer were constantly on my mind. What type of potion would I make? How would I use the potion? Who would I use it on? Should I make a virus, a magic item, or a zone instead? Is this real, or is Stephanie fucking with me? All of these questions kept cycling through my head as I went about my day. I can’t count the number of times I pulled up to a house to deliver the resident’s mail and the first though into my head would be, “How would I transform them?” Which was always followed by, “How could I get them to take the potion?”

The answer to those two questions didn’t materialize until two days before Stephanie was set to return. I was sitting in the living room enjoying a tall-boy of Labat Blue while Ryan was playing games on the couch. “See bruh it’s all about the setup.” Ryan said pausing the game. “If I tried to cast the spell on her now, she could easily deflect it. But...” Ryan began flipping through his inventory and stopped on a bag of dust. “This powder doesn’t do any damage to her, but it does confuse her. It’s like confusing a Pokémon.” Ryan unpaused the game and douse the woman with the powder. “And now that she’s temporarily distracted...” Ryan equipped a spell. “Boom! She dead!” He said as his attacker turned to ashes.

“Good strategy dude.” I said taking another drink from my tall-boy. ”That is a good strategy...” I told myself as I began to think about the potions. ”What if I have a distraction potion... Or a sleeping potion?” The dosage options and injection options quickly began cycling through my head. ”If I had a potion... OR AN ITEM! That could temporarily neutralize the person I want to transform, then I could use the pitcher option and the injection options... Which would allow me to really trick out how I transform someone without all the drawbacks! Holy shit that’s it!” Trying to hide my excitement I yawned and got up from the recliner. “Dude I think I’m gonna go watch TV in my bedroom. I’m really tired all the sudden...” I grabbed my tall-boy and started to head towards my bedroom, but made a detour to the kitchen. “I might need this.” I said holding up another tall-boy for Ryan to see.

Ryan shrugged and continued to play his game, while I hurried off to my bedroom. Shutting the door behind me, I grabbed a small note pad from my dresser along with the pamphlet and sat down at my computer desk. “Okay... One potion... No! One item to neutralize my victim... Well... They won’t be a victim... They’ll be a... a... a Test Subject. One item to neutralize the Test Subject, and then one potion to transform them.” I quickly began jotting down different combinations of options for my neutralization wand, and then began working on the transformation potion.

“Damn... I don’t want her to be stupid... Or weak... Or ugly... Shit!” I cracked open the second tall-boy as I tried to figure out the ideal combination of options for this potion. “I want to tune her... um... my test subject’s body and mind... But I just can’t make this work” I thought taking a drink. ”Damn it! I thought I was on to something, but the number just don’t add up...” I began removing options and recalculating, but no matter what I couldn’t get the potion where I wanted it without some major scarifies. ”How can I make this work?..” I pondered as I thought about Ryan’s Pokémon analogy. “So I use the wand to weaken or distract the test subject and the potion to remake their body and mind... Wait. What if I had two potions? One for body and one for mind. It’s kind of like having different attacks that target different weaknesses... Well not exactly, but still. Do two potions. One for the body and one for the mind. Keep the neutralizing wand and then I would have an entire extra potion that I could put towards the other potions... Or I could have a wild card potion!” I grabbed the pamphlet and flipped to the Physical Form and Powers sections. “I could make a super hero potion... or a gender-flipping potion! I could have a potion just for making cat-girls or clones... This is perfect!”
