Lisa Warren pulled into the school car-park as though she’d been driving all her life. She got out of the car and smoothed down the front of her pencil skirt. She had chosen to dress a little more professionally than her predecessor, opting for a smart blouse, the skirt, and some low-heeled pumps. The look seemed to impress her new boyfriend, and she was very nearly late because of the result of said impression.
“Morning Lisa!” A voice called to her. She looked up and spotted someone she’d been introduced to the previous afternoon.
“Logan…right?” She said as she tried to recall his name, her new voice still coming as a slight surprise to her.
“Yeah” He replied a little sheepishly, “you feeling as nervous as I am?” He asked, rubbing the back of his head.
“A little” Lisa shrugged, “but a little excited too. Is that your daughter?” She asked, nodding towards the brunette heading away from them.
“Uh…yeah, I guess she is now” he replied before turning and calling out to her “have a good day Annie!”
“We’d better get going ourselves!” Lisa said, glancing down at her watch, “wouldn’t want to be late, come on” she added excitedly, grabbing his wrist and pulling him along.
Joey, Vicky, and Kim had arrived together, swiftly joined by Athena and Sabrina.
“Oh look, it’s the loser squad,” a snide voice said from the side of the hallway as they entered.
“Oh go suck your boyfriends dick Saffron, and leave us alone!” Sabrina snapped back.
“Youre just jealous that you can’t land a man as fine as mine!” Saffron replied, grabbing Billy’s arm where he stood next to her“and I’m guessing one of you is to thank for the…rearranging of my underwear drawer?” She added angrily. Joey, Athena, and Kim stifled their laughter, Sabrina and Vicky having shared with them what they done the evening before.
“I don’t know what you mean” Vicky said with feigned ignorance, “why, did someone spread all your granny panties out all over your bed or something?” She added with a sly smile.
“I fucking knew it was you!” Saffron hissed, “you’ll pay for that you goth freak! Watch your back!” She added as Billy took her by the shoulders and led her away, the two of them scowling at the group. Once they were out of sight, the five of them broke down laughing.
“You guys better be on the lookout for the rest of the day” Athena said through chuckles.
“Hey guys what’s so funny?” A girls voice asked from the doorway behind them, “Hey Kim” she added. They turned and saw the new Annie Andrews in a red top and complimentary white skirt.
“Oh…err…hi” Kim stammered weakly, “guys this is Annie, I told you about her after the party” she said to her friends. Joey and Athena exchanged looks and smiled.
“Ok, well we’ll leave you to it, and you can catch up with us later” Joey said, giving his former father a nudge towards the girl. With that the four of them went their separate ways.
“What were you laughing at?” Annie asked as she moved back outside, letting Kim follow her, “love your outfit by the way!” She added as she looked her up and down. Kim had gone with a more fashionable ensemble consisting of a black top and white skirt.
“Oh, thanks, I got it at the mall” Kim replied, blushing a little.
“Well maybe we can go there after school and you can show me where you got it?” Annie said with a smile.
“Yeah sure, sounds fun” Kim smiled back.
“Great, it’s a date!” Annie said happily. Any further conversation was quickly cut off by the sound of the bell.
“Ah crap!” Annie sighed, “catch up at lunch?” She asked as the two of them headed inside.
“Uh… yeah,” Kim stammered, a little blindsided by the date comment, “I look forward to it” she added with a smile as the two new girls headed off down the corridor.
