Lorna awoke early the next morning and eagerly clambered out of bed, leaving Shaun snoring away. She looked back at him and smiled as warm memories of the night before came back to her. She took a step and winced as her head let out a little throb of pain.
“Should have taken it easier on the wine yesterday” she grumbled. She paused for a moment, her voice sounding a little odd this morning, a little higher in pitch. She clasped her hand over her mouth, then slowly removed it again.
“Hello” she said quietly, “well that is something!” She added afterwards.
“What are you talking about?” A deep voice rumbled from the bed.
“I think the changes have come to an end honey” Lorna replied.
“What do you…” Shaun began, “oh…oh!” He said as it finally dawned on him.
“You sound quite sexy actually” Lorna smiled at him, “what about me?” She added in a sultry breathy whisper.
“I could listen to that all day!” Shaun beamed, “unfortunately I can’t, my vacations over and I’ve got to go back to work.” He sighed as he gingerly swung himself out of bed.
“You sure you couldn’t just take one more day?” Lorna pouted, “you are the boss after all”
“I would if I could Lorn,” Shaun replied as he got to his feet and rubbed his temples, “Damn my head hurts.”
“I’ll go out the coffee on” his wife smiled softly at him, “then I’ll wake the kids.” She added as she grabbed her robe and left the room. Shaun watched her leave, and let out a low groan, surprised at how deep his new voice sounded.
“Best hop in the shower” he muttered to himself as he made his way to the en-suite.
Once she’d put the coffee on to brew, Lorna returned upstairs and started the rounds, waking up each of her children. Martyn was awake in seconds and bounded off downstairs, Vicky was eventually roused with a bit of swearing, and Joey needed revisiting twice before he finally climbed out of his pit. As she reached Kim’s door, she was surprised to find her already up and dressed.
“Morning Mrs Madison” she said happily.
“Please Kim, I’ve told you to call me Lorna” Lorna replied, “go help yourself to breakfast, and I’ll be down soon.” She added with a smile before returning to her room to get dressed for the day. Shaun was already out the shower and toweling himself dry.
“Oh very nice!” She purred as he dropped his towel to the side and grabbed a pair of boxers. He caught her eye, and with a wink he stuck a pose, thrusting his groin out and flexing his muscles.
“Show off!” She laughed as she set about choosing her outfit for the day.
Before they knew it the time passed and suddenly the kids were rushing around gathering their school work, and Shaun was rooting around for his work boots.
“You left them by the back door!” Lorna sighed.
“Thanks babe!” He said as he kissed her on the forehead, “I’ll grab them and head out around the side. Have a good day, love you!” he added as he jogged off into the kitchen. Not long after the four kids headed out the front door, leaving Lorna alone.
“Well” she said with a contended sigh, “looks like I’ve got the place to myself for the day. Whatever should I do?” She smiled, thinking of all the possibilities she had now.
