Jon looked up - the little guy was gesturing toward the audience, but instead of pointing, he was making a sweeping motion with his hands.
Suddenly, another woman climbed up on the stage. Jon recognized her as Sandra Bullock. She was quickly followed by Angelina Jolie and her "Girl Interrupted" co-star, Winona Ryder. Almost the moment they mounted the stage, the change into donkey centauresses began.
But even before they were through changing, more famous women clambered up on to the stage. Kate Hudson, Angela Bassett, Renee Zellweger, Elizabeth Hurley, Zhang Ziyi, Gillian Anderson, and many many others. Soon, the stage was crowded with some of the most beautiful women in show business - but transformed into a veritable herd of long-eared, buck-teethed, braying donkey-women. They were still clad in the tattered remnants of the expensive designer gowns they'd worn specifically for the evening, and they stomped and snorted, thought whether in confusion or anger or fear, it was hard to say.
The babble from the remaining audience members was now deafening as panic set in. The remaining female members especially were desperate to get away, lest the same fate befall them.
"Jon!" Karyn yelled above the din. "Use the rock! Do something before he - look!" Jon looked down to see that a glowing portal had now appeared at the far end of the stage.
The two donkeygirls closest to it - Jon couldn't tell who they were - turned and, with a loud bray, lept through the doorway and vanished. One by one, the others followed the first two through until the now-demolished stage was once again empty.
Reflexively, Jon & Karyn looked up to see the little man give one last demented chuckle before vanishing. When he left, the portal also vanished.
Karyn looked at Jon. "Okay, Jon, enough fooling around - someone's got to save those women, and we're the only ones who can do it."
