Well done. Interesting twist with the mother loving it and the father hating it. Makes sense and can add a lot I think. The writing itself is quite good as well, shows a lot of potential. There's some issues with tenses here and there but that's just down to obsessive editing. Also the perspective and exposition could maybe use a bit of polish, since it took me awhile to figure out what was a Real Karyn thought and what was a Sarah Karyn thought. Although it may have been meant to be deliberately ambiguous and I'm just pretty stupid at the moment.

In any case,I really enjoyed this. Thanks for adding. I'd love to see more.

Thank you. I'm trying to make the characters more realistic than in most other branches, the slow burn is more a consequence of that than something I planned.
For the mind change, it's mostly a personal preference. It's not something I enjoy very much and I couldn't justifie the characters not using it unless it was explicitly forbidden. But as I said before, if you still want to add your own chapters, you're more than welcome to do so.

I love the slow burn, and how Jon, Karyn, and Sarah are behaving realistically for the ridiculous situation they're in. A lot of other branches might just jump into the changes without stopping to think through the ramifications of each event, or just let Jon meekly submit without fighting back like a normal person. Keep up the great work

I second that this is a great story. The only thing I wish was different was that mental changes were not explicitly disallowed in one of the first original wishes. I'm tempted to circumuent it by writing an episode where Sarah makes some changes to Jon's brain - I guess it's something that's physical. It wouldn't overwrite who Jon is, but might give him some new thoughts or feelings - which works for me cause I'm not a fan of identity death anyway.

I did have a sense that this story was moving in a more deliberate direction than many interactive stories. I may contribute a chapter or two, but feel no obligation to add to it. Very interested to see what you have planned!

Thank you, I am glad you like it. I have to say I never considered someone would want to contribute to this story. I always thought of it as something I would write alone, and I planned a lot of things I want to do with it that I don't think would work if I had to adapt to what other people write.
You can still make another branch and I might add to it if I have some ideas, but I think I'll keep making my own story at the same time.

I plan on adding to this branch pretty extensively but wanted to make it a good open-ended premise for other people.

I actually realized that mistake as soon as I hit "submit," but there isn't an edit option on comments, and I didn't feel like adding another post. But yes, passport control is definitely CBP, and it was a silly mistake for me to make.

Also, hate to nitpick, but CBP, not TSA.

That TSA agent sounds suspiciously British. I don't know if that was intentional, and I don't know if you intend to bring her back later in this story, but I actually kind of love that. Like, a stereotypical, prideful American, but for some inexplicable reason she speaks like Olivia Coleman.

That's it. I've decided this TSA agent is Olivia Coleman.

This reminds me of my story Jon's Wonderful Wish, in which Jon became a Selkie, Thanks for picking up the torch on some Scottish folklore Catprog, I look forward to seeing where this goes.
