"Fuck off girlie! This is my stuff!" yelled the man after seeing Leslie within arm's reach of the dumpster
"Hey man, can I help you find something? Need something to eat?" asked Leslie, "I'm no stranger to foraging." The man stared for a second, realizing that someone was being nice to him. He looked Leslie over, sizing her up.
"I am hungry, girlie. What do you have?" the asked suspiciously
"The basics, bread, peanut butter, milk, OJ. You can come on up to my place, have as much as you want."
The man stared at Leslie again, eyes narrowed, "What do you want? Nobody gives me nothing for free."
"You're right. I want you to help me find something in there. See, I threw away something I realized I want back. You could help me find it in there. Look, if you say no, that's ok man," replied Leslie, "I will look for it myself if needed, I would just ask you to let me look on my own."
"Girlie, if you throw in a shower, you have a deal," replied the man. Leslie held out a hand, and the man shook it. The two went inside the building and up to Leslie's place. The homeless man carried a bag of items he had collected from the dumpster. As promised, Leslie took out the rest of his bread and jar of peanut butter, also putting out some fruits and vegetables. The man devoured the food. He was on his 3rd sandwich before he started to slow down.
"Pretty kind of you to let me in, girlie, even after the deal. Most wouldn't trust me," said the man.
"It's Leslie, not girlie. You weren't the only one trying to figure out what the other was like. I've been down on my luck before, and starving. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. You look like you're done, go take that shower I promised you and I'll make you a to go bag. While I'm at it, I'll get you a change of clothes. I think my stuff will fit you."
"What?" asked the man, confused.
"I mean, I got your size. I don't have an extra coat, but I got some other stuff." Leslie went into his room after throwing the socks towards the bathroom door. She grabbed a pair of jeans, boxers and a t-shirt with a flannel heavier shirt to drop off for the guy. The man picked it up and closed the bathroom door.
The man went into the bathroom, and the water started to run a few seconds later. Leslie put the rest of the bread and peanut butter into a plastic bag, along with a couple of bottles of water. The water turned off as Leslie was halfway through eating an orange. Leslie heard the man moving around in the bathroom as she was checking her phone for messages. John sent her a text that she had passed the fitness tests. The 3 girls were at the mall as promised and apparently got her a few items. Tammi sent a message they would be done in a bit. Leslie sent a message to Stacy asking about if something was set up with the registrar yet.
Just then Leslie heard a gasp and a few seconds later a loud thud like the man had fallen. Leslie rushed to the door and knocked but there was no answer. She knocked a few more times without an answer. Leslie decided she had better go in and check on the man. When she entered the bathroom, she found the man sprawled unconscious on the floor and was shocked to see his body changing. Leslie noticed that the man was wearing the medallion and a pair of her old boxers. She watched in awe as the man slowly changed to look like she had looked before her change. She thought, "Well, this is going to be awkward to explain."
As she was staring at the man and trying to decide what to do about this situation, she heard her phone pinging to announce a flurry of texts from the girls talking about how cute everything was they got for her, even sending her a picture of a skirt they got. Leslie had a random thought that the skirt would look good on her. She then shook her head and told herself that she had better start trying to figure out what she was going to tell the man when he awoke. Tammi sent another text saying that they were almost at her place so she could try on the clothes they got her. At that, Leslie started to panic a bit. How was she going to explain the strange man in her apartment to the girls? How was she going to explain to the man what had happened to him?
