Leslie called his sister on the way out, who luckily picked up.
"Hey Sam, you mentioned the medallion may be magic. You're talking about the cheap looking thing with an angel on it? What did you mean by magic?" asked Leslie as he was walking to the dumpster.
"Yes! That's the thing. It changes people. Wait, you sound weird....OH! You used it, didn't you? You sound like a girl!"
"You're right, sis. I somehow changed overnight when I was driving here. The thing was in my sleeping bag, with that dress for Carrie that mom got from Target. So, how does it work and more importantly, how do I change back?"
Sam thought for a moment. She could play an epic prank on her older brother or she could tell him now to change back. Decisions decisions.... "You sure you don't want to be a girl a little longer, bro?"
"No thank you. I like my body, I trained hard to get it the way it was...is. Also, there have already been some issues at school since I showed up the other gender. They have me in the system as Female now, and that could domino to other issues down the road. It already was annoying that I had to go to the women's locker room for the fitness test."
"What? You went into a locker room for girls? What was that like?" asked Sam getting ideas of what to do with the medallion when she got it back. It would be great to find out if Nick was the man he claimed to be at the dance last week.
"It was not ideal. Fortunately, I passed everything. So, Sam, how do I change back? How to make the thing work again?"
"Well, Les, there was this note that came with it. It said you have to stay in your new body for at least 12 hours, to allow it to recover. You can change back with the medallion, as long as you aren't pregnant or on your period. Are you either of those bro?" asked Sam with a giggle.
"Definitely not," said Leslie sharply.
"Good, because those issues would delay everything. Now, I'll tell you how to change back, but you have to promise me something."
"What is it, sis?"
"I want you to be my sister for a little while when you get home. I have a great time with you, but I always wondering how hanging out with you would be different if you were my sister, you know? I know I have Melissa, but I think it would be cool to hang out, but a little different, you know?"
"If you really want it, Sam, I'd do that with and for you. You have a deal, but we have to do it when only the 2 of us are around, deal?"
"Deal! Now, you have to wear the medallion and touch it to clothing you wore when you were in your old body. The change takes about 30 minutes, and you have to wear the medallion the whole time otherwise the transformation stops and you have to wait another 12 hours," explained Sam.
"Sounds easy enough, I have some clothing around I can use. Thanks for helping Sam, sorry I didn't call back earlier."
"It's alright bro, just make sure you bring that thing home next time so I can use it. How's everything else going?" asked Sam. The two talked a little more and Leslie said goodbye when he got to the dumpster where he found a homeless man dumpster diving
