Athena closed her eyes and grew, becoming taller and taller until she stood an inch or two taller than the new Karyn. The purple faded from her skin, and her skin paled. Jon expected her features to balloon outward to resemble her cartoonish fairy features or the cartoonishly exaggerated features of every other woman he had met so far, but the opposite happened. She slimmed up to have a gentle hourglass and small perky breasts in a light blue outfit made of a fitted blouse and overjacket and cloth trousers that hugged her slim waist and extremely long legs. The only thing that didn’t change was her pointed ears and sophisticated features. Was she an elf now?
She blinked her eyes open, looked at Jon, and then at the watch on her wrist. She frowned severely and grabbed Jon and tugged him out into the hallway, “You are late for your dancing lessons, Princess.”
“But Athena, the stone. We can fix this.” Jon said. Athena looked down at Jon and, with swift precision, snatched the stone out of his hands.
“What are you doing with your Mother’s magical artefact?” Athena asked.
“But we can fix everything—”
“Silence,” Athena said as she pulled Jon to a closed door. “Mhm. What you are wearing is not proper for dancing. You were supposed to have changed.” Athena tapped a long finger on Jon’s delicate nose, and it felt as if cold water was pouring over Jon’s soft skin. The poofy princess dress slimmed down, hanging tight to Jon’s generous curves, but Jon knew it would spiral outwards the moment he twirled. Twin slits appeared down the sides, cut scandalously high just above Jon’s hips to allow for greater motion. "You drive me mad. I don't know why I decided to take the Queen's offer to be your minder, but you make me regret it more by the day," Athena hissed more to herself than to Jon.
If we wear something like this to the dance, we will have the heirs of all the other nations drooling all over us.
“Shut up!” Jon hissed.
Language!
“What was that, Princess?”
“Is this really appropriate?” Jon asked quickly.
“It’s perfectly appropriate. You need to practice in something similar to what you will be wearing at the big dance. Even if you are not to marry one of the heirs, it is important to entice them and their fathers so your mothers can sign more favourable trade deals.”
She makes a good point. We must keep to our role as princess
Jon didn't want to think about dancing in front of other nations' heirs or even dancing at all. This wasn't supposed to be happening.
“Okay,” Jon said. He really didn’t want to do this. He hated being a pampered princess, but he certainly didn’t want to learn to dance. Besides, he was supposed to be figuring out how to get them all out of this. Athena opened the door and gestured Jon inside. Athena fingered the stone. She almost wanted to say the words I wish for some reason. There were certainly aspects to the Princess's behaviour she wouldn’t mind correcting.
