Jon walked into the room and noticed Athena and a male fairy he didn’t recognize. He needed Athena alone to get her help.
“Mr. Applejack. Would you leave us? I must speak with Miss Plumdrop alone.” The princesses' voice spoke through Jon’s lips. Jon opened his mouth to chastise the voice in his head.
You should be grateful. Besides, it isn't like a princess to say ill of herself. Jon ignored the voice.
“But I was just asking Miss Plumdrop if she would marry me,” the farmer-looking fairy said.
“Leave,” Jon said with more authority than he felt he should have. Applejack bowed and flitted out the open door. Jon closed the door behind himself. “Athena! What was that?”
“Applejack. He’s fallen for me. He’s been chasing me this whole time,” Athena said with a frown. Jon found himself giggling. When he noticed, he covered his mouth with a delicate hand. Athena’s frown intensified.
“What’s that?” Athena asked, taking to the air to point at the stone in Jon’s slim hand.
“It’s what got us all in this situation in the first place. A magic stone that makes all wishes come true.”
Athena flitted around the stone, “May I touch it?”
“Yes, but be careful—” Athena flitted down to touch the smooth surface of the stone.
“I wish I wasn’t a fairy,” Athena said, and the stone flashed.
Jon opened his mouth to swear as he realized the only thing allowing Athena to remember this reality was her purple fairy powers.
