I opened my eyes and saw a blank misty landscape. "Where am I?"
"You hit your head" a voice said. I spun around; it was Karyn. She was dressed in a St Mary uniform, which I thought really suited her, and had an almost mad, delighted smirk plastered on her face.
"What? What are you saying? Am I dead?" I spluttered.
"Dead? Not yet" Karyn said.
"So you're saying this is some kind of hallucination"
"Guess you're not a ditz. Least not yet. Like your new look. Suits you, Anna"
"Shut up! This is all your fault!" I snarled.
"My fault? I know you like my whole schoolgirl look. Not so funny when you have your own, is it? I think girlhood suits you, Annie" Karyn countered.
I groaned. "So this is in my head, then? Guess all this arguing is pointless, then. Why am I hallucinating you, and how long before I wake up?"
"Not long. Your new friends probably will take you to the nurse's office, or whatever they have at this school. Then send you home for concussion or something" Karyn said a lot less antagonistically. "As for me, I don't know. Maybe you need someone to blame. just like me."
"I just want for this to go back to normal."
"This is now normal, Anna. A girly, slightly ditzy 13 year old girl. Unless you want to use that stone."
I scowled.
"Still afraid of it? Don't blame you. Just don't blame me for your concussion accelerating your mental changes" Karyn said. "Say your name."
"What? Mental changes? Why do you want me to say my name?" I demanded.
"Humor me"
"Arrrgh. Fine. its Anna. What? Anna..." I said, eyes widening.
"Guess your feminine persona is starting to take root" Karyn giggled.
Anna
Anna
My eyes opened for real, and saw I was being carried off the field by Paige and Emily. I felt dizzy, disorientated. "Whats happening?" I demanded.
"Can you walk, Anna? Coach told us to take you to the nurse" Emily asked.
"I'll be fine" I said, even though I was freaked out by my hallucination. Both girls looked slightly skeptical, but eventually I walked to the nurse alone. Sure enough, I was diagnosed with concussion, and told I needed to go home. I had mixed feelings; I wanted to escape from this accursed school, but I was more than nervous about who would come and collect me. After ten minutes, I heard a bemused voice. Zoe
"Looking good, Anna"
