Settling into the corner of the cafeteria with their lunches, Karyn and Jon compared notes on their 'wish' ideas. They thought a good start would be to write down all the wishes so far, that way they could examine the wording exactly.

I wish I had long blond hair and big boobs and maybe then I'd get some of the attention.

I just wish that you'd get a younger sibling and see how fun and annoying they can be.

I wish that Mrs. Black wouldn't get pregnant from my wish.

"Did you really have to put in the part about attention?" Karyn asked, blushing slightly. "I know I said it, but I'm pretty sure that part wasn't captured by the wishing stone. And having it written down is kind of embarrassing. I don't really want more attention, alright? I just kind of blurted that out because Sarah was annoying me."

Jon shook his head. "We need to be thorough. Just in case. Our best shot at fixing this is taking advantage of the small wiggle room that we left in by being vague."

Karyn's face grimaced. "Fine Jon-boy, but if we're being thorough you need to put in the two about that poor stick we turned blue yesterday."

Jon grumbled, knowing Karyn was just being difficult at this point but put it down anyway. He felt a bit guilty that every time they'd used the stone so far had negatively affected Karyn in some way. Even if one of those uses had been self-inflicted. If she was a bit difficult, it was understandable.

Finishing the list they gave them another look over.

"You know with that first wish it'd be pretty easy to change your hair to strawberry blond." Jon mused. "You never really said what kind of blond you'd be." Jon had always liked Karyn's red hair and kind of missed the look. The blond really didn't suit her, but he thought a strawberry blond would look really nice on her.

Karyn cocked her head peering down at the notebook. "That'd probably work on the boobs too. I never specified how big was 'big'..."

Jon tried very hard to squash the little reluctance that reared up at that. He didn't want Karyn to feel uncomfortable. He tried to convince himself that his next words were with that in mind.

"Yes, but big is a rather relative term. I mean sure they're "big" but compared to a car, or a building they're not bigger at all, right?"

Karyn gave him a dead look. "I asked for big boobs Jon. Not for a bigger house. Obviously the stone was able to tell what I meant."

Jon quickly backtracked. "But a poorly worded wish could change a lot of things. It could change your definition of what big boobs are! Or even change everyone else's so that they're smaller in comparison so that way your old boobs are now the new 'big'."

"That's why we need to come up with a wish that's not poorly worded." Karyn retorted.

Jon sighed. Knowing that pushing more would be suspicious. Besides for that, he was getting kind of embarrassed talking about boobs, let alone his best friend's. He shifted in his seat uncomfortably.

"Let's table the first wish for a second and look at the second one. It's obviously the bigger problem. There's a couple ways I could think of getting around it, but..."

Karyn scowled. "Yeah the second part really messes that idea up. If I have to learn to 'see how fun and annoying they can be' that leaves either personality manipulation or having a sibling long term. Both options that are unacceptable."

Jon nodded. Looking over the wish he'd written down. A small nagging doubt in the back of his mind that something wasn't quite right.

I just wish that you'd get a younger sibling. That way you could see how fun and annoying they can be.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard he thought about it, he couldn't figure it out.

The stone at the bottom of his bag sat contentedly.

"Karyn, I know this idea might sound radical, but what if we wished..."
