To the bearer of this package, heed this letter’s words before doing anything with it.
You have been chosen to bear a powerful gift, a gift we hope, one day becomes commonplace in between your ilk. Long have we monitored the night sky for stray wishes, wishes for something different, wishes of Transformation. You, of all of them, seem to be one that would not only be ecstatic to wield this, but also would do so sensibly, responsibly and if you find it in your heart, help others with it.
Keep these words close to your heart as you can now open the package. If no malignant forces are at play here, to you should have arrived this artifact.
We call it, The Locket to Wonderland, or WonderLocket if you’d rather keep it simple. This contraption has been forged with very powerful magics by generations in our land to foment self expression and discovery. It will allow you to transform yourself to any fictional character acquiring all their characteristics, gender, species, voice, slight instincts and speech quirks, while having near to none effects to your mind or identity. You will also acquire any applicable powers they hold, hence why we made sure to select our candidates wisely.
This locket is intrinsically tied to you, and you mainly, you can recall it to your person by simply willing it and it will return to you swiftly. That is not to say that you are disallowed to share it, although we advise caution, you are free to share and allow the use of it by another person you trust as long as you are nearby.
To facilitate use we have included a set of small instructions, you’d do well to read them.

To activate the lock you should focus on one of your hands, in it imagine a key, it’s shape and form will come to you as you will it into existence as it’s catered to each person. It will appear in your palm and glow a bright magenta. You can dispel it or
store it wherever and whenever you like, but only you will be able to see it or interact with it. If lost it can be easily retrieved by repeating this step, likewise if you make it vanish or if broken by an outside force. -
Insert the key into the locket, and turn. After doing such, the compartment will spread open and it’s contents will spill forth of it, a flock of magenta butterfly like entities, made of paper wings, in wich each has the story of a character written within it. These beings have their own free will, we call them, Quixopaloceras, or Storyflies in less academic terms. They are magic being, born of mankind’s fiction and imagination, each embodying a character thereof, reflected in one’s pages. Any form of narration counts, any fictional character no matter how otherwordly or modern, it can appear in a given flock.

You must appeal to a Storyfly to transform into the character each holds, they are fickle but not unreasonable. Once the appeal is made, you will be able to transform in and out of your character at will. This will be signified by a red symbol of two interlaced squares with the characters siluette on the middle appearing in your chest. Give it a light tap, to first transform into the character. If you want another person to transform they will have to endear themselves to one of your StoryFlies, not unlike a friends pet, the StoryFlies will somewhat listen to the person, but mostly prioritize your commands.
We are confident you will like this gift and ask of you that you slowly introduce it to as many people as you can over your time with it.
