Juniper blinked her long lashes in confusion as she steadied herself, suddenly feeling like she was walking on stilts. 'wait, Juniper? she thought with a start, realizing how much had suddenly changed. She knew her name hadn't been Juniper moments before, it had been Jon, but that just felt wrong now for some reason. She didn't feel like Jon at all. She remembered the old reality, but suddenly it was like all her internal instincts had changed. Juniper didn't have too much time to take stock though, as there was someone staring at her dumbly through the open door.
Staring back at her was Eric Callahan, a fairly plain boy in her class. It was like someone had taken the old Elizabeth and run her through an average boy filter. He was a bit scrawny in places, and a bit doughy in others, not in the worst shape but obviously not very athletic. He had close cut brown hair, unremarkable features, and was wearing a simple black tee-shirt and jeans. While he wasn't an exact copy of the old Jon, he was clearly cast out of the same mold, and was in fact wearing the exact outfit Jon had on before the reversal occurred.
"Uh, sorry, I don't really know why I'm over here," Eric said lamely. "I'll, uh, I'll go." (Now that their roles had been exchanged, the sequence of events that had originally brought Elizabeth to the doorstep had broken. Eric had no reason to have been at the mall looking for prom dresses, and also didn't own a car to get a flat.) Juniper just nodded dumbly and closed the door behind him before dashing back into the house to search for a mirror. The fact that she did so successfully in heels without tripping not registering with her.
Instinctively she went for her room, which had entirely transformed, but most importantly now held a floor length mirror. She froze in it. Staring back at her was a very pretty, tall, athletic girl, wearing the same outfit Elizabeth had on when she came to the door. She brought a trembling manicured hand up to her lovely cheek, marveling at the massive transformation the magic had wrought. When she'd made the wish to have her family switch roles, she hadn't thought it would change her body so drastically. Hell, she hadn't meant to include herself at al!
What the old Jon hadn't realized was that when he wished for the reversed people to get whatever was physically required for their new role, he'd opened the door to this. So much of who people are and the roles they filled were based on their circumstances. For instance, across town his mother hadn't suddenly just switched jobs with Susan McMillan. To take the role of the model, she'd also traded fitness, attractiveness, confidence, skill sets and more with the other woman. She still looked like the old Linda somewhat, but was noticeably taller, with a larger bust, slimmer waist, tanner skin, better hair, more symmetrical features etc, while Susan had undergone those changes in reverse.
In a similar way, when the magic had decided to exchange Jon's role with Elizabeth, certain changes had to be made. To become the captain of the girl's swim team, he obviously had to become female. He also needed to acquire her hard earned athleticism, her swimming skills and so on. However it went further than that; part of Elizabeth's social standing had come from the fact that she was a beautiful, well off girl, so those things then had to be true of the new Juniper in addition to acquiring the charisma and personality that fit her new role. The magic had basically kept as much of Jon as it could, while still letting the new Juniper fulfill her new role. That was why she wasn't just a perfect clone of Elizabeth, but still greatly resembled the old captain.
Juniper cupped her b-cups, surprised to know her new bra size and mesmerized by the girl in the mirror. If it changed me this much, what is it going to do to the rest of the family?
