Gena was suddenly overprotective of her sister. "Who the fuck did it? I'll tear his balls off!" she shouted in anger. "No one does that to my sister!"
Lanie didn't much care for Gena's profanity, but she was glad to see her running to Myka's defense. It was nice to see that the sisters really were sisters. But as it was, Lanie had no information to give to her. Even Myka herself couldn't identify the boy. Though that could be because of shock.
She barely was able to restrain Gena from running down the hall to the nurse's office, barging in on the nurse and Myka. "Who was it? Jeeze, Myka...people think I do some stupid shit, but..."
Lanie entered the room. "Gena Violet Gibson..." she said, sounding very maternal. "Your sister has had a very hard experience...and while I'm glad you care..you are not helping. Can you try to be...supportive?"
Gena paused, and looked like she might tell Lanie to fuck off, but she actually backed off. "What do you know about who did this?" She asked, in a much softer voice than she usually used.
Myka paused. "He pulled me into the janitor's closet...and...I thought...and then he..." she stumbled. "And he started to take off his clothes...and then..."
Gena stared at her, then looked at Lanie. The two came to the same conclusion at the same time, and both ran to check the janitor's closet.
Myka got up, feeling a bit less shaky. She really wanted to go home. And Miss Wright was sounding a lot like her mom. She must have worn her clothes...but what had happened to Linda Gibson? No one had said a word about calling her or Myka's dad. And that was because things had shifted again. The reason Lanie sounded like her mom was that Lara had shifted from thinking of divorcing Myka's father to having done it already, and he'd married Lanie. The only thing that Lara had kept in the divorce was the name Gibson.
