Zoe knocked on the door to the master bedroom. "Are you almost ready?" she called. "You said you'd drop us off on the way."
"Be ready in a few minutes, " a voice called through the door.
"Yeah, right," Zoe muttered, and headed back down to where Simon was sitting on the coach scrolling through items on his phone. "They'll be a few more minutes. Hope you don't mind we're meeting Athena."
"No, it's fine. I don't want to be the third wheel though. I'll just hang out with Little Miss...ter Sunshine over there," he said, gesturing at Mikey and correcting himself. "He's been in a bad mood since this happened."
"He's just being a brat," Zoe said. She looked over at Mikey, who was almost as tall as Simon was now, with long black hair, wearing some of Zoe's less daring outfits. With all of the attention she thought she was getting with this change, Zoe didn't particular feel like being noticed either.
"You think your mom and dad will be much longer?"
"What did you say?" Zoe asked.
"Will your mom and Jon be much longer?" He repeated.
Karyn ran into the room before she could respond, wearing a pair of swim shorts and sandals. "Can you help me? I can't reach the towels in the hall closet."
Mikey got up. Standing next to Karyn, he seemed at least a foot taller than she did. He headed to the closet and was able to easily get her one. "Thanks Mikey," she chirped. Mikey found it hard to be too mad at her for some reason.
Jon and Laura finally joined them. Each had a small bag with their swim outfits. "You look ready to go kiddo" Laura told Karyn.
"I don't know why you want to go over there," Simon said.
"Well, I do. You don't have to," Laura told him.
"Come on, kids," Jon said. "we don't want to be late."
