Karyn’s phone buzzed in her hand.
Zoe Gibson: “Yes, you two can go in my room and play dress-up <3<3<3”
Then it buzzed again.
Sarah McMillan: “And you can use her makeup, too.”
A third buzz.
Zoe Gibson: “No you can’t! Don’t listen to Sarah!”
A fourth buzz.
Sarah McMillan: “It’s all just drugstore stuff right now. I’m taking Zoe to Sephora to replace it all tomorrow. Use whatever you want.”
There was a pause. Karyn showed Dawn the texts, and the two exchanged confused looks.
A moment passed. And then another. And finally, Karyn’s phone buzzed once more.
Zoe Gibson: “Ugh, fine. You can use my makeup, just don’t make a mess.”
