It all started in one classroom in college… a strange event that affected just this one room, at one moment, at one time. Some students might have been happy to have missed it and others ‘possibly’ saddened…
For reasons unknown, an entire classroom transformed….
Most of the transformations were not subtle… some turned into mythological beings, others partly into animals… others simply gender swapped (making theirs at least subtle to the outside eye), a rather bizarre situation which caused their clothes to transform as well.
Nobody wanted to say the M word… that being ‘Magic’ was to blame, but it wasn’t as if anything like this happened anywhere, and nobody really knew what to do. It was an unprecedented event that suddenly brought the entire attention of the media, who wanted to talk to those affected.
The school had been placed under quarantine but with no further odd changes, the entire classroom was taken to a very isolated hospital. Many were offered counselling, unable to accept the strange change that had befallen them. Though the idea that there might be someone to blame, tended to keep people going.
Suspicion naturally fell on the teacher, who ended up transformed into a feline woman. She now had strong cat-like features, with fur covering her whole body, strange digitigrade feet that prevent her wearing most shoes and of course- a long slinky tail. She might look a bit like a tigress though it was more like a fluffy savannah-cat. Her hands were paw-like but still usable as hands.
Given the suspicion, and media attention as well as the need for someone to be blamed, she was taken in for further questioning… but eventually let go. There was nothing in her house to implicate her, nothing in her history or family… they did not find ‘the witch’ after all. She decided to stay in the school, because she hoped it would help the students also get on with their lives… though after all she had been through, nobody would have blamed her for trying to leave… though it was under question if to allow such changed people the freedom to leave the country at the moment.
Conflicting witness reports were gathered… as far as people could tell, the change was quite ‘instant’.. as was the chaos that followed. Some suggested they saw a brief light, others thought it was something else…
The classroom where this happened was immediately placed under indefinite quarantine. Nobody was allowed to go inside again, as every part of the room was examined…
