"I brought the rock to school today to show to Karyn," Jon said, "and while she was holding it, she didn't really mean to, but she wished she had hair and boobs like Sarah McMillan. Up till then, she was flat-chested and had short red hair."
Zoe frowned. "But I remember her being a blonde, and that her chest developed pretty fast over the summer last year, and -- holy crap, that rock changes reality, huh?"
"Yeah, for everyone who doesn't hear the wish," said Jon. He could already see the wheels turning in Zoe's head, so he quickly added, "There's another restriction. You can't reverse a wish. That's why Karyn is still, uh, the way she is now, or the way you remember her."
"Either way, you could do a lot worse than her." Zoe looked thoughtful for a second, and then said, "You know what? You should wish you can do a lot more than just change women's chests."
"Huh?"
"You reversed the changes to me, right?" Zoe asked, but then didn't give Jon a chance to respond. "So if you do something magical without the rock, you won't have any problems. Obviously, the restrictions are on the rock."
"Hmm," said Jon thoughtfully, looking at the rock in the palm of his hand.
"What are you waiting for?" Zoe demanded.
"Just trying to think of a downside," said Jon. He closed his hand around the rock, took a deep breath, and said, "I wish that, in addition to women's chests, I had the power to alter anything in the universe with a thought."
The rock flashed.
