Karyn led Jon through the door leading to the school hallway, not overly concerned with what Jon was wearing. Seth, however, still wanted to know just what was going on, so he followed them.

"Karyn, what did you do? What wishes did you make?" Jon demanded.

"Wishes?" Seth exclaimed, confused. "Will someone tell me what in the world you are talking about?"

Jon and Karyn both sighed. There was no way of getting out of this one. "Seth, this is a magical wishing rock." Karyn began. "It grants people's wishes. It's because of this rock that you, Jon, and the others are dressed the way you are."

"Yeah, right." said Seth. "This is real life, not some bad RPG."

"Bad RPG?" Jon asked.

"You know what I'm talking about. The 'Monty Haul' type of D&D; quest, where it's so easy to get treasure and kill monsters it's ridiculous." Seth replied. "Sometimes, a really bad DM might even throw in a wishing well or something."

Jon and Karyn exchanged silent glances at each other, as both realized just what had happened. Sarah had no interest in fantasy role-playing games, and showed nothing but contempt toward Jon and other 'geeks' who did enjoy such things. Seth, on the other hand, was Jon's friend, made so by Karyn's wish for Jon to have things in common with the cheerleaders. Seth now clearly had nothing in common with the Sarah he had until recently been, and who he clearly no longer remembered.

"Seth, Karyn's telling the truth. Prove it, Karyn. Wish that we were wearing boy's clothes."

"Okay." said Karyn. "I wish Jon and Seth were wearing normal boy's clothes."

The stone glowed, Karyn looked away, and when she looked again, Jon and Seth were dressed in everyday boy's clothes. Seth looked stunned for a moment.

"It's true..." Seth said, stunned.

"What about the others?" Jon asked.

Karyn was hesitant. "Okay, I wish the boys now inside the girls' locker room were wearing boy's clothes." There was a flash from the rock. Soon after, the other boys emerged from the girls' locker room, now dressed in boy's clothes. They left in a hurry, muttering about how they'd get in trouble if they were caught in the girl's locker room. This left Jon, Karyn, and Seth standing alone in the hall.

"Okay," said Seth. "I believe you now. But would you tell me what's going on? I can't even remember what we were doing before we found ourselves in the girl's locker room. I think we were practicing for some athletic event, but I can't even remember what it was."

Jon and Karyn exchanged worried glances. Seth seemed to be a nice guy. How could either of them tell him that he hadn't been Jon's friend at all before the wishing stone? That instead he had been a snobby, bitchy mean-spirited cheerleader? How would he take it?

Problem was, Karyn still hadn't talked to Jon about the effects of the wishes that led to Seth's creation in the first place. She wasn't sure if she could do so with Seth still here demanding answers.

"Well?" said Seth, turning to Karyn. "It's clear you know what happened. So tell me. What did you do to us? Why did you do it?"

Karyn turned to Jon, not knowing quite what to say.
