Jon stared in shock at the transformed cheerleaders. All were now boys very surprised to find themselves wearing girls' cheerleader outfits.
Seth glared at Jon. The look on Jon's face betrayed something. Jon clearly knew what was going on. "Jon, did YOU do this to us?" asked Seth.
"No!" Jon replied truthfully.
"Then what happened?!" shouted Seth. "Why are we dressed like this?"
"I don't know..." said Jon.
Seth grabbed Jon by the shoulders and forced him to sit on one of the benches. "Jon, we're friends. I know you well enough to know that you're hiding something from me. So spill it!"
Friends? This was a shocker. Up until about, say, ten minutes ago, Seth had been the bitchy Sarah McMillan, someone neither Jon nor Karyn could stand. What had Karyn's wishes done to them?
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you..." Jon replied.
"Try me!" Seth insisted. He clearly wanted a straight answer. But what was Jon supposed to tell them? That someone had put drugs in their food and made them act like this? Or should he tell them the truth and say that they used to be girls until they were transformed by a magic wishing rock and a few careless wishes? Jon couldn't think of any explanation the new boys would accept or believe...
Just then Karyn entered the girls' locker room. She gasped at what she saw. She saw very upset and confused boys in girl's clothes, searching the lockers vainly for their boy's clothes.
Jon saw her enter the room. "Karyn!" he shouted. At once, Seth and the other new boys turned to Karyn, and their expressions ranged from embarrasment to fear. "Oh, great! Just wonderful!" Seth grumbled. "She'll tell the whole school about this and Biff and his gang will be beating us up and calling us fags."
Jon got up and ran over to Karyn. He didn't know what to do. Should they discuss this in the locker room, where Seth and the rest would overhear, or should they leave, and run the risk of someone seeing Jon dressed in a girl's cheerleader outfit? One thing was clear, though.
"Karyn, we need to talk. NOW!" Jon said, insistantly.
