Nick tried to focus on being more modestly clothed, concentating on the bathrobe. It worked, but it did take some significant effort. After a small bit of practice, he found that it took about as much concentration as trying to memorize some numbers or a list... he figured he could walk while maintaining it, but even a simple conversation would be tough. He did find that he would revert to the bikini a few seconds after a lapse, whicih gave him a small window to recover, but not much, and it was harder to recover the image than to maintain it.
"Can I just wait here or something? I'm worried about going out on the street." he asked.
Mr. Fisk looked up from organizing his tuning forks "Hmm? Oh, well only for a short time... I do have to contact people, some of which can't be done with you lingering around, and I do also have a consultation apointment this afternoon with another client - nothing as interesting as your case, of course, but I do have other clients, after all."
Nick was a bit upset "I won't be in the way!" he protested "I can just sit here and keep quiet - besides, I know you warned me, but this is a little bit your fault!"
"My dear, you are right - I did warn you." he said sternly. "I accept some responsibility in this, which is why I am devoting much of time - at no charge - to trying to fix it. But dabblers and fools who go playing with powerful magical artifacts and get themselves into trouble seldom need my help to get there, only to get out." he then softened somewhat, adding "besides, I am afraid that you will be a distraction - as much as I am quite a bit older than you, I am not immune to feminine charms, and I do not wish to risk any further mishaps in my efforts. You will be safe enough out there - at worst you'll get lots of unwanted attention if you lose concentration. In here, we might both run into very serious problems if my own focus is compromised."
"Besides," he added, "you need to get more of this 'Megan' girl's clothes if you hope to change back far enough to remove the Glove!"
Nick thought about it. Maybe it would just be best to lay low for a few days until this bikini issue could be resolved, but if he could use the medallion and remove the glove, the whole affair would be over, and he wouldn't be out of commission long enough for anyone too upset.
