Nick figured that the only name he could back up would be Megan's, and he knew enough about her life that he could probably bluff through any pointed questions. "Megan Connors" he said.
The security agent looked at her suspiciously. "Are you a guest with us?"
"Yes... down the hall, in room 1435." Nick replied, absently, preoccupied with trying to see what was going on MIke.
The man sat back a bit "Ma'am, I need the truth here. That room is registered to someone else. If you're a professional, tell me now, and there'll be no harm done."
Nick looked at him "what? you think... I'm not a hooker! we're friends, hanging out! I wasn't planning on having sex with him, and certainly not for money!"
"Perhaps ma'am, but I'm afraid I'm going to need to see some ID."
"I left everything in my room! Let me go get it, and I can show you!"
"Un huh, in room 1435? And I suppose you have a key?" he asked sarcastically, and added "or do you need me to open the door for you?"
Nick turned red... he held up the key card as he realized that he still didn't have the right one... Mike would have put it somewhere... but where?
"This is the wrong one, but the right one is in the room here somewhere, just let me find where Mike put it..." Nick started to gaze around the room.
"Right... I don't think so." the man called over the other security guy who had been waiting at the door, saying "please escort the 'lady' out of here, and make sure everyone knows that she's not welcome back." He then turned to NIck "You're lucky that it does look like an accident, otherwise you'd be turned over to the police - but there's no way I'm letting you rifle through a guest's room."
The other guard, obviuously chosen for the job based on his build, took Nick's arm, firmly, but not roughly, and started to lead Nick out to the hallway. He needed that medallion! but maybe the Amulet of Time could help! He realized with horror that he had left the Amulet in the bathroom while washing up!
"Wait!" he said, "Let me just get my necklace from the bathroom! It was a gift from my grandmother!"
The security agent just shook his head. "We'll confiscate it, and you can put in a claim at the front desk, with some proper ID. If it is yours, you'll get it back eventually."
What now? Nick had to get back into that room!
