There was no response. Checking that the makeshift bandage seemed secure, Nick ran to the phone, and quickly called down to the desk, and told them to call 911 and get some help up to this room. After a minute's delay, the desk called back to say that paramedics would be there in a few minutes. Seeing that he was standing there in nothing but a bra and covered in blood, and with nothing more to do for Mike until help arrived, he decided to try to wash up quickly and put something on.

Nick headed into the bathroom and quickly wiped off the blood with a wet hand towel. Next, he went into Mike's bedroom and looked for something to wear. He saw, lying on a chair, the shirt that Mike had been wearing before, and reluctant to start going through his drawers or luggage, Nick decided to simply put that on. It was of course baggy, but he saw that he looked like nothing more than a girl wearing her boyfriend's shirt, so it would do for now. As Nick waited on the bed impatiently, he seemed to pick up on Mike's scent from the shirt, but strangely, rather than bother him, it seemed oddly comforting.

Moments later, there was a loud knock on the door. Nick ran over and opened it, seeing two paramedics in the hall along with a pair of hotel security guys. Nick immediately led them over to Mike, and the paramedics went to work. Meanwhile, one of the security agents took Nick aside. "Can you tell me what happened here Ma'am?"

Nick decided to leave out the part about how he entered the room. "I was waiting for my friend to get ready, but when he came out of the shower, I was coming around the corner, and we just accidentally crashed into each other. He hit his head on the doorknob, and he didn't get up. I bandaged him up as best as I could..."

The security man could see the young lady was shaken up. "It's OK, miss. You're friend is in good hands "“ The best way to help him now is to go over this with me to make sure they don't miss anything. First, what is your name? And are you a guest here?"

Nick wasn't quite ready for this... what name to give? He didn't even know what had happened at the registration desk. The only ID he had was Megan's old credit card and student ID, and of course those were still in his room with the medallion... and Nick still didn't have the right key card!
