After pulling out his own clothes, something still rattled in the bag - In the side compartment, he found a little make-up bag with lipstick, one of those eye-pencil things and a compact, as well as a travel toothbrush with some old toothpaste and floss. Also in there was a plastic zipper bag with something wadded inside. Nick pulled it out and discovered it was a sort of track shirt with the logo from Megan's old college, with her name on the back.
Nick knew that Megan had been a competitive runner for a while in high school and college, good enough that she had won some state track competitions, but she had given it up before they started dating "“ it must have been years since she had used this bag, Nick thought.
Still, at least it would be something else to wear later on, maybe to bed. On the other hand, if it was a few years old, maybe Nick could use it to become a younger version of Megan sometime. Megan was always in good shape, but Nick wondered what she must have been like in her prime running days. He put the track shirt in the purse, wondering if he should test it out when the time came.
