Athena ran over to the group, a random assembly of attractive women, all of them with some outstanding feature. Melissa had been the first of them to develop and her breasts had gained her an early popularity, Athena remembered asking her for bra tips in 6th grade...a year before hers would come in....no wait...she did that with someone else...was it Zoe? or Karyn? Karyn also had large breasts and blonde hair, why wasn't she a cheerleader? Why was Athena?
Standing next to Tiffany Saunders always made Athena nervous. She was the most "adventurous" of the group, if you needed advice on guys she was you're girl, she knew how to flirt, how to do what she called the 'look', and the rumor was she had a few other skills too...but it wasn't nice to talk about that. Tiffany came right over to Athena and put her hand up for a high five, which caught Athena off guard, but only slightly less than when Athena put her hand up to meet it, and the contact turned into some sort of seceret handshake, which dispite it's complications flowed with the ease of something well practiced, it even took a second for her to recognize the oddness of it all, because she was having fun with her friends that she wasn't entirely sure she knew.
She approached the group with Tiffany and Melissa flanking her, and to Athenas surprise everyone huddled around her and looked to her. It took her a second to realize they were waiting on her to speak. She was the leader. It didn't make sense, anyone of these girls was prettier, was more popular, was better suited for the job, Athena thought of herself as something of a misfit, more into old music and taking care of the house....and something else...something magical....but those were just dreams...Yet they all looked to Athena with baited breath, waiting for her command. It was this silence that forced her to speak.
"Alright, we are a team on the field and we are a team on the court. Melissa you serve first, Tiffany i want you up front doing your thing with any guys, don't embrassas us though, just distract them. Everyone else, set it up for Amber to spike it, she's the tallest." Then finally she finished by saying "Remember to dazzle" and then put her hand in the middle. They all followed in, and then to her amazment they did it, and over the course of the next half hour she found herself jumping, setting, and playing along just fine. It felt good. It felt seductively good.
After class she walked into the locker room to get ready to change again with a new sort of confidence. She saw herself in the mirror and though, "hey, I'm not half bad looking." Not noticing the stuble changes in her face, body composition, and hair. She gave herself a wink, but then noticed a girl roll her eyes at her through he mirror.
"ugh Cheerleaders." said a familiar voice.
