"I don't know why you don't want me to speak," Bambi said. Karyn's wish hadn't worked. Bambi continued, "I've just been trying to make things better --" She must have seen the upset on Jon and Karyn's faces, because she said, "Like, that must be the problem! I've been doing stuff for me! I should be wishing stuff for you!"
"No, Bambi, you don't have to do that," said Jon. He winced again -- it was now impossible for him to call her "Mom," and since she didn't look like like his mother anymore, either, how long would it be until he stopped thinking of her as Mom?
"Oh, but I want to!" she exclaimed, and with a little squeal, said, "And I know just what to do for you and Karyn!"
Jon and Karyn both braced themselves to find out what the airheaded Bambi could have come up with.
