Jon's Mother Linda lay down on her hotel bed, exhausted. The Iowa store was not doing well at all. Somehow, they had misplaced almost two thirds of their inventory and hadn't preformed an audit for years. She might be here for weeks if it turned out to be as bad as it looked. She sighed and sat up. She didn't want to fall asleep yet. There was still a bit of daylight left and a be any nap now would throw off her schedule. She was so happy that the boss had given her the next two days for a weekend. She needed it.
She went through her stuff, unpacking her suitcases a bit more and sorting out some of her stuff. She pulled the stone out of her purse and hefted it. It was such an odd looking stone. Anyone who saw would no doubt question why she had it. It wouldn't be any good if anyone saw her with it.
She set it down on the counter, her hand resting on it. "I wish this rock was something more subtle, like a bracelet or something." She felt the stone grow warm beneath her hands. She looked down. The stone was indeed a bracelet, a very nice one. It would go well with almost any outfit, though it wouldn't draw attention to it. Subtle, Linda decided. Just as she had wished. "Well," she said aloud, "I didn't mean for that to happen. Now its something that people would steal for itself, and not just its magic. Oh, I wish people wouldn't notice the magic unless they knew about it." The bracelet flashed and Linda cursed her self again. She set the bracelet table and went back to unpacking.
