Accompanying Suzie and Robbie was not needed here. They both defeated their opponents with ease. It was a big prestige boost to do so on a pay-per-view. After both our champions, Robbie and Suzie, were done, the rest of us were all hands on deck for the EWL Tag Team Championship match. They said they would be watching from backstage. It was Child Labor vs. Dynamite. Luke Rasdac and John Ender were pretty tough. They had a lot of technical training, but they were not so stiff as to never climb the ropes for a dive or springboard. This meant that they were able to get the boys in holds that would make it hard for them to maneuver around. We did what we could to keep the boys in the fight. This was pivotal. Up to this point, we had never lost a single match. We had steamrolled the jobbers and cheated the mid card talent. I took a lot of credit. These guys were the real deal though. They knew what they were doing. Sean, the former Intercontinental Champion, did as well. The combination of an extreme match stipulation and his own hotheadedness got in his way. We robed it.
Knowing this we needed to work hard to do it again. It would bring our new stable to new heights. Luke was in the ring with Will. Will was getting the shit kicked out of him like he owed Luke money. That was the case nearly every fight they had. We simply scooped them up if they were tossed near us or were knocked to the mat within reach. Alex was not a heel yet. He did not do that. All he could do was try to rally them back into the fight. With his shitty charisma stat, it never actually worked on them or the crowd. At least he was trying. Luke tossed the bruised and battered Will out of the ring. He followed after to keep the pressure up. The ref was distracted with the count. I took this as a sign. I quietly went over to the side of the ring where John Ender was standing on the apron. I yanked him down to the floor, making him bump his head on the apron as he fell. This was all behind the ref so I did not get caught. Luke threw Will back into the ring at the high count of 8. I was still stomping the crap out of John. Luke reentered the ring at 9. We went to tag his partner in, but John was out.
No ability to tag was given to him. He looked at his partner in confusion. I was standing on the other side of the corner. My smug grin gave it away. "What the hell did you do to him!?" Luke demanded. "I didn't do anything to your partner, man. Why would I even do that?" I answered. He was cursing me out and leaning through the top and middle rope. While this was happening, Jamal called for a hot tag. He got it and launched himself at Luke. He wasted no time in rolling Luke backwards into a pin. The ref counted it. They managed to win off of that. Even I was not expecting the distraction to work that much. Both Luke and Jamal looked flabbergasted. That was when it all sunk in. "Here's your winners and new EWL Tag Team Champions, Jamal Hood and Will Verdis, Child Labor!!" the ring announcer called out. Will had rolled out of the ring. John was still writhing in pain. I went over to Will and gave him a piggyback ride backstage. Jamal carried both their title belts with him. All of us celebrated hard. All of us were over the moon. Winning was one thing. Now, we had to keep them with us.
