When Ben opened up his piece of paper, there were very few names he wanted to see. In his mind, he had a rough order of which bodies would be the best to get with his father, Max, at the top and his grandma Elma at the bottom. It seemed fate wasn’t going to be good to him but wasn’t going to be horrible. Opening the piece of paper, Ben saw the name “Amanda” written which sent shivers down his spine. This wouldn’t be the first time that Ben would be getting the body of a woman but it would be the first time that he’d get the body of his own mother.
“Hey bud, look whose name I got,” Kurt said as he called out to Ben who was sitting across from him. Ben looked over and saw his grandpa holding up a piece of paper with the name “Ben” written on it. This wasn’t the worst thing for Ben to see as at least his grandpa had experience being a teenage boy at some point in his life but skipping the tradition entirely would have been Ben’s ultimate dream.
“Who did you get hon?” Amanda asked her son after speaking with grandma Elma about getting her body. Ben sighed as he simply handed the paper to his mom. Reading it, a smile grew on her face. “Wow! This is so exciting! You get to finally be me!” It seemed Amanda was over the moon about her son finally getting her body, much to his dismay.
The next couple minutes were spent figuring out who got whose body as most of the family was excited about whose names they pulled. It seemed like Ben was the only one that wasn’t excited which was to be expected. Once the conversations started to die down, grandma Elma decided to take control once again and begin the swaps.
“Alright everyone, let’s all get ready to take on our new bodies! Would you care to get us started again, dear?” Elma said as she held out her hand with the magical stone to her husband. He immediately took it and held it to his chest, not saying a word and instead closing his eyes. In order to activate the stone, you had to concentrate and picture yourself in the body you wanted to swap with. In Kurt’s mind, he pictured Ben’s body and slowly the two began to feel light headed.
Neither one passed out as the gray stone suddenly turned to a red color. The second the glow appeared, the light headed feeling came with it. Ben always hated this feeling as it felt like he was getting sick. In the blink of an eye, Ben soon found himself on the other side of the living room in his grandfather’s body.
This process was always the most messy part as bodies had to be shuffled around to create the correct combination. Pretty much everyone in the room would experience life briefly from a random body which was always an interesting part with the Body Exchange. In no time, however, the bodies were properly sorted as soon everyone was placed into their new bodies.
Finally finding himself in Amanda’s body was a very interesting experience for Ben. Thinking about the body that Ben inhabited most of the time, his new body couldn’t be any more different than it was. Ben was a skinny teenage boy who stood about 6’1” and had short brown hair. His body was the definition of basic with zero curves. Now, Ben was in the body of a mature woman who was several inches shorter at about 5’4”. He could feel the long blonde hair rubbing against the back of his neck as the chair he was sitting in immediately alerted him to his body’s new curves. Amanda was a very curvy woman with large child bearing hips and a chest that would make any man drool. All Ben could think about in this moment was how much he couldn’t wait for the new year to come.
