The figure stared down at Mark as the yellowed smile seemed glued to its face. It seemed to be getting great pleasure out of the situation as the figure’s eyes continued to inspect Mark’s body. Slowly, the figure stood up as it continued to look down at Mark who remained lifeless on the floor.
“You have young minds that look up to you in hope. Perhaps one of them deserves to be put on the pedestal that you simply ignore,” the figure said as it held its hand out and snapped its fingers. The sound of the snap echoed throughout the void as the area around Mark and the figure began to violently shake. The figure seemed unfazed by this as it simply stepped back into the darkness while Mark laid on the floor. The entire void around Mark seemed to be rapidly collapsing as soon Mark’s body started to slip into the floor. Soon, his body entered a free fall as it floated through the void. Nothing seemed to be approaching until a white light was seen a long way ahead. The light grew bigger until it completely engulfed Mark’s body.
Mark’s body disappeared into the light for a brief moment until the world slowly began to return. Piece by piece, Mark’s world was rebuilt as he could feel himself slowly exiting the trance that he was in. His senses slowly returned one by one. As his vision returned, so did his sense of touch as he could feel his body once again. Little things like his fingers could finally move as Mark misted the strength to move his head. Glancing around, things looked a tad different compared to before but Mark wasn’t completely sure as his vision wasn’t fully back. When it did return, Mark’s initial observations ended up being true as things had changed. Instead of seeing his bedroom around him, Mark noticed that he seemed to be in his younger sister’s bedroom.
“What the fuck?” Mark muttered to himself as he continued to look around. From what it looked like, Mark was now currently lying on his stomach on his sister’s floor, inches away from what appeared to be her little doll setup. Mark had no clue how he ended up one bedroom over but what he noticed next confused him even more.
While glancing around, Mark noticed that his head felt a bit strange. It felt like something was attached to the top of his head. Every time he moved his head, he felt a slight tickle on the back of his neck. Curious, Mark reached a hand behind his head and felt a clump of hair. Feeling it more, it seemed that he was touching long hair that was tucked into a pony tail. Confused, Mark pulled it forward and was shocked to see that he was correct in his guess. Instead of the short blonde hair that Mark was used to, he was now looking at long blonde hair that was pulled up in a pony tail.
