Just that alone kept me from being too bold. The builders were cool. They drained the moat and raised a castle even higher after demolishing it for a stronger one. They also extended the river with my help. They were not able to find any nearby settlements on the plain, so that plan was abandoned halfway through. More homes were made to accommodate the new merchants and their families. Some of the higher ranked merchants also had servants that also wanted to start families. With the influx of people, we needed to settle something. They had some clear differences in culture and expectations. They were a mobile bunch, so that meant a majority of betas and alphas. The few omegas that moved here were mates or children of the alphas. I could not rule over them. I was a Sage. Things were definitely getting tense. The foreign alphas, omegas and betas alike were pretty confused by all the omega male and beta female builders. They were not used to beta or omega females working. They also looked down on omegas. Dirty alphas tried to grope them. My commoners simply fled.
Killing the offenders was not an option for them. They had no combat abilities. Them being level 22 meant they could escape without being hurt. You would have to be a military commander or a pro athlete to catch them. Luckily for me and them, I already had Ichigo, Niko and Santa making patrols around the bigger castle town to keep the peace as samurai. When a Protector commoner fled, it was usually to the nearest samurai. People were initially skeptical of having just 3 omega male samurai for their protection. That was before Ichigo, Niko and Santa beat the absolute shit out of a group of alphas having a drunken brawl. The conflicts were not just between the foreigners and the Protectors. It was foreigner against foreigner too. There were a pair of separate cultures between them. Due to this, there were also 2 rising groups of samurai. That would not be good for us here. The really angry Akane Clan was still at war with us as well. They were provincial lords. The last loss destroyed their ability to fight, but they would try something when they had the ability to. We were unstable.
