Xenophobia was still in full force here in Greene. People did not appreciate the fact that the hybrids were now of a higher station than them. I made sure that all 6 of the boys were raised well. They did not need much adjusting to get a noble demeanor going. Seeing this only made people more angry. I did not care about those people. It was clear to me that they would not change their minds. They were so small minded. I did care about my children though. Seeing them hated was something I did not. As a father, I wanted to make sure they were okay. When other young noblemen wanted to grandstand and show superiority, they would do things to provoke my children. It would then lead to the noble challenging them to a duel. Then my sons would absolutely obliterate them in the fight. This would only heighten their profiles as warriors. A brood of vicious fighters was a good reputations. Word spread to the other settlements. People from all over the county came to fight them. They all lost. As time went on, more and more grizzled warriors came to test their prowess. Betan and I would get involved as well.
I knew that beating up racists was a really fun time. Betan loved to fight everyone. As the head of my noble house, House Rhombus grew in reputation even more. It was not a big surprise to me that some of the more desperate or curious houses would come to us for marriages. I had 3 fully human daughters. When I got my first suitor, people were stunned. Johna and Holly were also stunned. I asked if they wanted to be married. They were actually not sure how they felt on it. That was fine. "Well, meet them and see what you think about them. You might fall in love." I told them. They would go into it with an open mind. Most suitors would simply be overwhelmed by all the attention they received. They were not expecting to be pursued with the same intensity. They were not ready for the girls to be so opinionated either. Many of them left without a word by the third date. That was to be expected. I did not sugar coat things for Johna or Holly. They wanted respect and a decent level of autonomy. Both of them were graduates of a mage academy. Johna was my heir and a court member. Men weren't ready.
