If you have two pitchers of water, and you continue to pour water from one into the other, eventually the second pitcher will overflow. But what happens to the overflowing water? What happens to the pitcher that is losing water?

And now his Mom didn't know his best friend. He was holding on by a thread. He needed to fix this.
He hurried to find Mikey. He needed to know more about Gina. He entered Mikey's room, please at the least he was still there and hadn't vanished. He needed to find out what Mikey knew.
