Karyn looked at her. "You want to do what?" She said.
"It's a party...do you want to spend the rest of your time in high school in the spotlight? The sooner everyone gets it out of their system the better." Gina said.
"Sarah is up to something, she's always up to something," Karyn insisted.
"So? I'm not going to buy into it if she tries to pull something. We're just going out...and we're not prisoners. We go, if we don't like it, we make an excuse and leave," she said.
Karyn looked at her. "I can't believe you are considering this."
She reached for Karyn's hand lightly. "You have this weird blind spot when it comes to Sarah McMillan for some reason."
"Because she's always been horrible to me," Karyn said.
"And this is our chance to show her up...right? I mean, who makes a cuter couple, us or her and that musclehead from the football team?"
Karyn shook her head. "I am going to have to think about it, okay?" She wished she could talk to Gina...about how Gina was making her feel right now. The one unfortunate side effect of transitioning from friendship....the first person she usualy thought to go to was also the person she now couldn't. But who else could she ask?
