"I forgot to charge them. Besides, it sounds much better on the speakers," she said. "I mean, this track is amazing..." She seemed excited about it, and slightly less angry than Zoe Gibson. Even her Gothic attire had been toned down slightly.
Gina sighed. "Karyn and I were trying to hang out..."
"Fine...I'll turn it off...I hope you stay out of my hair if I bring someone here...not that I would..." Zoe said.
"No..she left already," Gina said.
"Well, then what's the problem?" Zoe said. "I'm glad the two of you just stopped pretending you were friends."
Gina looked at her. "What?"
"Come on...you've had a thing for her for ages...everyone knew it except the two of you."
Gina looked annoyed. But she told herself that unlike other times, Zoe actually wasn't trying to get on her nerves.
Meanwhile, at the Gibson House, Jon was still trying to find the wishing stone, having torn his room apart and was becoming increasingly alarmed. He'd asked Zoe, and she'd told him to fuck off, and he asked Mikey and he seemed surprised by the question as well. And the music Zoe was blasting from her room didn't exactly help with his concentration.
He banged on her door asking her to lower it, having to struggle to be heard over the sound...when suddenly it stopped. "Thank you," he said, not noticing as he passed by the family photos on the wall that Zoe was no longer in them. He tried to calm his panic...some wish was in effect, and something was going on related to Gina Malucci. He needed to talk to her...he sent Karyn a text, asking if the three of them could meet up the next day. Karyn's text came back a short while later. "Sorry...Gina and I are going to see a movie tomorrow night...it's kind of a date."
He had that plan...not that it had been a date or anything...but now it had turned into one, and with Gina but not him attending.
Dinner that night was quiet. Zoe must have gone out somewhere because his Mom didn't set a place for her, and he had to listen to Mikey tell their mother about how great Gina was while he sat in sullen silence. He spent the rest of the night in his room putting the stuff he'd tossed all over back in place, and doing his homework, before going to bed.
