Bloody rice was not a problem. It just meant that he ate bloody meat. If Mike was fine with eating it, that was on him. Elijah would not want to eat something still bleeding if he had the choice. Their meal was done anyway. It was time to return to their frat house and hang out a bit more before bed. Classes would start up in the morning. If he could meet the brand new day bright eyed and bushy tailed, that would be for the best. It would be much better than having to go in dead tired or hung over. Elijah had a few classes that he had to attend on Mondays. As he was going to leave, Mike waved him over. Elijah wanted to see what he wanted. Mike leaned in close to whisper in his ear. "I have a few clients lined up after this. Want to come with!? You could make some nice money on the side." Elijah shook his head. "No thanks. I'm good. Keep safe out there." he said, declining the offer. Mike narrowed his eyes for a second before smiling back. "I always keep safe. Maybe you can see next time." he said. Elijah nodded his head once and then turned to leave. Their conversation was now over.
Mike was not a bad person in Elijah's mind. Far from it. This was still a bit weird for Elijah. He was going to need the time to conceptualize it before he would be perfectly okay with this. Tyler also turned him down. Mike. at that point, had been there enough. "I have some people I need to meet. I'll see you guys back at the house." he said before walking off. Mike looked like he was annoyed about something. The members of the frat just watched him leave. "It's like 9:53. Where the hell does he have to go all of a sudden?" Dustin asked. Greg rolled his eyes. "Leave him alone. 10'oclock is still pretty early for a meetup. Dinner in the dining hall doesn't even end until 10:30." he said. That was also true. If he had not been told exactly where he was going to go, Elijah would have simply assumed that Mike had a friend or girlfriend on campus that he had to meet up with for a conversation. His face said it all. There was something that he not was happy about. Elijah kept his mouth shut. He had made a promise to Mike. He was not going to break it so soon. That was not the person that he was.
It was not up to Elijah what they did on their own time. He was fine with going back to his room. There was a presentation that he wanted to look over once more before bed. When he left, some of the others went with him. Tyler was one of them. It was great to have companionship. When they got to the frat house, they went to their own rooms for the night. Most of the members were going to hang out in their own rooms before bed. Others were going straight to sleep for the next day. He looked around his room and saw his bag on the foot of the bed near his desk. He pulled out his things and gave it the read through that he wanted. Elijah believed it was good enough for a simple homework assignment. He was not going for all A's. It was fine for a nurse to just pass. There was not as much of a competition for jobs and placements. He wanted to do well, but he was not going to kill himself to get a good grade for a random course that was not going to help him in life. Satisfied, he put it away. He decided it was time to get some sleep. Elijah set an alarm and clutched at his white pillow.
