John tried to take off his torn boxers, but couldn't get the waistband past his hips. He found a pair of scissors and cut them off. He sat down on his leather chair in front of his computer, shocked by the cold on his butt and now exposed vagina. Standing up quickly, he cursed still having one. He got some sweatpants and sat down at the computer again, starting a list of his problems:
Top of the list was not losing the medallion so he could eventually go back to being himself.
Next was explaining him potentially 9 month absence that would be able to be shortened if he figured a way out of this mess or delivered early.
Number 3 was what to do with the baby, if he had one.
Number 4, how to make money without any ID.
Number 5, if he couldn't undo his change, he needed medical care for his pregnancy
There were a few more, such as clothing, but while they were not important as the top 5 were the focus today. The first problem was a toughie, as normally he'd just get a lockbox at the bank, but since he wasn't himself right now, that was out. After his experience with Judy, he couldn't trust his family. Doug was right out. He decided that he would need to get a safe that he could hide and secure to the floor. He'd have to get to Lowe's to get that.
As for his nine month absence, that was a little easier as he could just say he was going back to Germany for a project that would last 7-10 months.
The next issue was a bit more of an ethical problem. Assuming he had the kid, there was adoption, keeping it or changing it with the medallion. John shook his head, realizing once again that he was pregnant and had to consider these things. Last time he had to worry about having a kid, Robin was doing it for them and he was excited about it. Was Robin? Now that he was on this side of the equation, and he would...MAYhave to push a kid out of himself, he started to wonder if she had similar feelings to what he was feeling now. After a minute going down that path, he refocused on the problem at hand. John decided he wouldn' t keep the thing, but wasn't sure about adoption vs changing the baby into something or someone different. He would worry about healthcare in 1-2 weeks if he couldn't find a way of out of this situation
The money was made simpler by the fact he owned the condo, since the second home in the woods was sold for the divorce. The other stuff added up though, like food, gas, condo fees. He would need to make about $2500 each month in a way that wouldn't be recorded by the IRS. He could try doing admin work at a company that didn't do things by the book. Maybe being a waitress, maid or tutor. He sent out a few applications to local stores and shops, thinking they may be more likely to pay him without needing ID. He printed some tutoring ads to put up at the library, setting up a new email address for it. John got everything, went to his truck and drove to do what he needed to do.
