"That bitch," Karyn seethed. "I wish she had more respect for people like us." Suddenly, she felt something grow warm next to her hand. She looked down just in time to see the wishing stone starting to glow, before being forced to look away. After the glow was gone, she looked at Jenna. "You brought the stone to school with you?"
"Hey, girls," came Sarah's voice, causing Karyn to look up, in surprise. Not just because Sarah had turned around and come back, but also because she sounded ... pleasant. That was very unlike her. Looking up, Karyn got another surprise. There was a person standing next to her, with an arm around her waist, but it wasn't Biff. It was Thea Woods! Sarah hated Thea, who was even more of an out-and-proud lesbian than Karyn and Jenna were, not to mention very butch, having muscles and favoring a biker-type lifestyle. But now they were friends? No, not the way Thea had her arm around Sarah. They were a couple! That wish that Karyn made ... it must have transformed Sarah into a lesbian! "Jenna, are you okay? What happened?" Sarah asked, looking down at Jenna, who was still down on the ground. She didn't even remember that she was the one who put Jenna there. She held out her hand. "Here, let me help you up."
Jenna was as shocked about this turn-of-events as Karyn was, but whatever that wish did, it seemed to turn Sarah into a much more caring person. Jenna grabbed hold of her hand, and Sarah pulled her up. Karyn made sure to grab the stone. Sure, Sarah might have been a nicer person now, at least to them, but she still didn't trust her to know about the wishing stone. Karyn put it in her pocket for safe-keeping.
