I was stunned to see my two new airheaded 'friends' standing outside, since I had been fully expecting Karyn. "Paige? Katie?" I stammered.
Neither girl seemed to register that I was surprised.. Instead, they seemed fixated on my lack of jewelry and makeup. "Anna? What's wrong? Did you oversleep?" Paige asked, concerned.
"Something like that" I replied, feigning a yawn. "I wasn't expecting anyone this early..."
"God, you're such a ditz, Annie. We have practice in twenty" Katie said, somewhat impatiently, which wasn't helped by my scurrying away to my room. Naturally, Zoe was waiting for me, and from her facial expression, i could see she was laughing at me.
"Answers. Now!" I snapped, as I searched my new vanity for a pair of stud earrings.
Zoe smirked. "You've been friends with those ditzes since you was a five year old girl, Joanna" she said, stressing the 'girl' part. "I have a nice photo you you and your friends dressed as princesses for Halloween..."
"You was much nicer as a goth, mom" I growled, as I found and wore my earrings. It was worrying just how easy it was for me to do it; another sign of me turning into Joanna.
"I'm still nice, missy. The stone is on my vanity. You can use it if you wish.." Zoe said.
I rolled my eye Honestly, whatever this 'practice' involved had to be better that using that wish-twisting stone. I was also a little curious about what this practice actually was, since Paige, Katie and myself were all dressed in our St Mary uniforms. "Forget it. Do you know anything about this 'practice' since you're in charge of St Mary's scheduling? Is it like, cheerleading? Ballet?"
"I don't know, Anna" Zoe said, grinning madly. I couldn't tell if she was lying, or amusing herself by picturing me doing all sorts of teen girl things. "Have fun"
"Yeah right" I muttered, as headed back down stairs were my friends were waiting. Both Katie and Paige seized my hands and starting to run, pulling me along. Thankfully my new girlish body was more athletic and I was able to keep up with their pace. Of course, i was annoyed about being dragged. The constant bounce of my breasts or the clacking of my shoes weren't helping my mood.
"Sorry, Anna" Paige said, finally noticing my annoyance. We had to run to make it on time. And to get you looking yourself"
"You didn't have to drag me" I complained. "Hey!"
"Why not?" Katie giggled as she coated my lips in another dose of strawberry lip gloss.
"So what is this 'practice'?" I asked, confused. We were not at St Mary's, but at Lake Point.
"We're so getting you a boyfriend, Annie" Katie said.
My eyes went wide. Boyfriend? God, no...
