It was clear he still loved playing basketball. Anna watched as Luke turned and waved back. She walked over to him. "Playing with some friends?" she probed. He looked a bit embarrassed. "Yeah. I still like basketball. It's just a fact that no one at school was going to take me seriously. Why should I help them win?" he told her. Anna could see that. "I think you could go pro if you wanted to. No one needs to know what your secondary gender is." she said. He frowned. "How am I going to get scouted when I already quit the club?" he asked. "That's easy. You go to a school known for basketball and go to the team tryouts. Nobody can touch you or Liam on the courts." was her answer. Luke gave her a skeptical look. "You really think so?" he wondered. Anna place a hand on his cheek. "You need to keep your grades up. I'm not paying out of pocket for some bum school full of jocks. You 2 better get a full ride scholarship for your college." she teased. He rolled his eyes. "C'mon mom! We're already the best in our class." he whined. "Then it won't be hard keeping it that way." she shot back.
People might rag on them for being omega males, but no one could ever downplay all their skills. They were so good, they could make a shot anywhere on the offensive half of the court. Both made 3 pointers like it was a huge joke to them. There was no way a college team would ever turn them down. If they got scouted from there, they very well could go pro. Luke's team wanted him, so Anna let him go. She watched him dominate. After that, they went home together. Liam ran up to them. "What were you doing out there!?" he demanded of Luke. "Nothing. I was hanging out and I ran into mom. We talked a bit and then came home." "Bullshit! You were playing against those alpha losers. I told you to drop the sports. Only alphas get to play without making a big deal out of it. They just want to fuck you." Liam snapped. Anna had to step in. "What are you talking about, Liam? Luke was nowhere near the courts when I met him coming back from an errand. Even then, it's a wild thing to say. I raised you both better than that. Omegas and betas belong in sports." Anna scolded Liam.
Questioning this was important, but it would be much better to handle it in a one on one conversation. "Luke, you can go get ready for bed. I need to speak with Liam for a moment." she said sternly. Luke got the hint and scurried off without another word. He knew she was on his side of this argument. Anna looked at Liam and asked "Can you tell me why you feel that way? You know how I feel and how everyone else that loves you feels about the need for omegas to be able to play sports. You know I know how good you are at tennis and basketball. What's happening?" Liam crossed his arms. "You don't get it because you are a beta! No one thinks the way you do here! Everyone says omegas can't do it. The second that we got the results, the coaches gave us the resignation forms. 'Do what's best for the team. We don't need any distractions with pheromones during practice. I can't even guarantee you'll be safe here on court or in the lockerroom. If you're an omega, sign and turn it in by tomorrow.' he said." Anna was shocked. "I don't want to burden my alpha friends." he ended.
Really, this was to be expected in an alpha supremacy mindset. Still, this was not going to happen to her kids. Anna firmly grasped Liam by the shoulders. "Liam. You are going to take me to your coach and I am going to talk to him. What he said was super fucked up. I know for a fact that you're heart is in the right place, but it's not a kid's job to manage adult things. He is a coach in your school. It literally is his job to make sure the students in his care are taken care of when he is in charge. Luke wants to play. I think that you do too deep down. Show them that you are not the burden they think you are. They might be skeptical about omegas changing things. You 2 are not omegas anymore. You are smart. You are strong. You have psi powers to help get you out of things that omegas would be trapped by. You and your brother can do it if you look out for each other." she lectured. She was several inches shorter than him, but Anna was glaring at him right in the eyes. It made him feel very intimidated. So much so, he began to tremble and whine. She pulled him in close for a big hug.
