I quickly spun around, surprised that anyone would know that name, and saw two girls my new age rush towards me. Both of them were dressed nearly identically to me, except they had heart shaped studs in the ears and a plain necklace around their necks. Which, I suspected was the most they could get away wearing at a school like St Mary's. Obviously, both of them were far girlier than the girl I found myself as, even though I seemed to be more developed. The more girlish of the two hugged me, which was a weird experience, but I had enough awareness to hug back. I also saw that the other girl did not hug Karyn
"Where were you, Annie? Paige and I were waiting" the girlier of the two asked. I winced, hoping it wouldn't be visible. It was bad enough that the universe decided that I needed to play the role of a seemingly very girlish teen girl, but to do it in front of Karyn was intolerable. Neither Paige or the girl noticed my wince, but Karyn did. She seemed delighted by my discomfort. especially with 'Annie', which I knew she would not let me forget. Plus there was the awkward fact I didn't know the other girl's name, their relationship, or their relationship with Karyn. All I did know, was that it was colder than mine.
"You're such a ditz, Katie. Anna had to wait for Karyn" Paige said with slight distain. "Come on, Anna. Class starts in ten and we need to get ready" Before knew it, both Paige and Katie had seize my arms and were dragging me off deeper into the school. I turned my head to face an outraged Karyn, but she gave me a mocking wave, as to say 'enjoy' as well as to 'gather information'. After two minutes of being dragged, I found myself in one of the bathrooms. I felt even more uncomfortable, since it still felt I was going 'off limits' even though appearance wise, I definitely belonged in the ladies. Paige started to play with one of her own pigtails, whereas Katie started to freshen up, using a tube of strawberry lip gloss. I just watched, staring, wondering what was going on.
"Are you okay, Anna? You don't seem yourself" Paige asked. Even Katie stopped preening herself, as turned to me.
"I just have a lot on at the moment" I said, partially feigning tiredness.
"Is that why you was with Stuck-up, know-it-all, Karyn?" Paige asked gently as Katie started to search around in her bag for something. It was then, I realized I had involuntarily giggled at Paige's comment, even though I had intended to actually defend Karyn. Even though I was still annoyed with her. Every step I took was a reminder; from the clicking of my shoes, and slight swish from my skirt, but most of all, the slight bounce I felt from my new, small breasts. Worse, from the quick and admittingly incomplete glance I had, I seemed to be the curviest of the girls in our new year. All I wanted was to get out of there..
I turned, wanting to get out of there, when Katie placed something in my hand. It was another tube of her lip gloss. Without thinking, I applied it onto my lips. Only when i licked my lips and would taste the strawberry, did I realize, and I was more than a little worried. Was the magic molding me into some kind of girlish ditz like these two? It was bad enough everything else about me screamed 'girl' I tossed the lip gloss into my bag, and was about to leave, when both ditzes joined me. which turned out to be a good thing, since they had the same classes as me.
So did Karyn. She seemed awkward, and very much out of place. when she took her seat just before my own. Naturally, i had both Paige and Katie flanking me, Her eyes seemed to bug out slightly as she realized I was wearing lip gloss. "Anna?"
