It was unorthodox. I wanted to know what would happen if I wielded another Blade Spirt when I killed. Which one of us would get the kills? Would it be me, or the blades that got the finishing blows!? Or would we both get the kill count to rise in the end!? It was something to see. Even if I could not benefit personally, making my Blade Spirit servants stronger would always be a good thing. I only had 2 following me right now, but there was nothing saying I could not get more in the future. A full party had 6 members. With Rook and Knight at my side, there was room for 3 more companions to fight and travel with me. The servants agreed and became katanas at my waist. It was pretty comfy. There was time to marvel at the feeling later. It was now time to kill our enemies. Rook did fire damage and it could be seen as sparks of flame sparked whenever he was blocked or parried. Knight did cold damage. I saw a layer of frost attach to wherever his blade struck. I was loping off heads and limbs as I cut a path through them. They praised each me a lot anytime that I killed with them.

Very quickly, it was clear that we could destroy them with no help from the mercenaries inside. Finishing up, we made sure that no one survived the battle. We then went back inside the town as victorious heroes. The people of the valley could not deny that we were amazing assets to the settlements. They honestly would have fallen to the soldiers by now if it was not for us. Once we were inside, I sheathed the blades and let Rook and Knight resume their mortal forms. They were very happy to be of use to me. I checked my kill count and it had indeed increased from the start of the battle. "Do you feel any stronger now?" I asked them. Both nodded their heads. "I felt sharper and more powerful with every kill, Lord David!" Knight said. Rook agreed, saying "I feel the same way. You wielding me has shown me that I can still grow as an evolved Blade Spirit." That was good to hear. I met with Darrien and he was bleeding heavily from his chest. I took out my blade and gave him the chain so I could heal him. "Thanks!" he said. It stopped the heavy flows, but it was still a cut.

When the doctors looked at it, they could heal him fully. I asked how many kills he got. He said " I got about 20. I remembered when you had your servants clean up after both Krit and Knat. I used that strategy." I leaned in pretty close to him and whispered "Please don't do that ever again. A Blade Spirit grows in strength with each kill. It is something very important to us. Stealing kills is robbing them from the chance to get more powerful. They were pissed after last time. Do not tell anyone about this. Good job though." He nodded his head and we went back into the town. He walked gingerly to not open his wounds further. The doctors were waiting to treat the champions. It was the least they could do after we did all of the work defending the valley. They would need to be able to pull their weight soon. The champions were wounded all over, but it was not too serious. They were battle hardened. Still, there were only 6 of them. They had not finished raising and training their children yet. The hybrids needed to be trained to fight with their weapons too. It would be over for invaders.
