I hope that they wouldn't be assholes. The last thing I needed was a clone getting the town they were stationed in to hate me. The kusarigama in Darrien's hands was a fresh and unbloodied one. We would need to wait until the others went out on their own solo missions before Darrien and I would get another chance to destroy hostile bandits. It would be better for us to get invaded from the mountains. At least then, we could go out and kill soldiers on the field of battle. Nothing about it but to wait. They did not let us wait too long. War was a waiting game. A couple of centurions from the mountains, one from each side, entered the valley. They had wanted to know what happened to the other troops that were sent. All of them were killed and we took all of their shit for our personal needs. There were no traces that anyone could see of the battle. The commanders came to inquire where they all were. Ethana Town spilled the beans. Osna and Battleville were both led by native Osna people. They both knew better than to talk about people going missing. They gave the run around.
Since this was the situation that we found ourselves in, Battleville was going to get sieged for a bit. Ethana was going to be assaulted. A trebuchet was being constructed outside the walls. There was no need for that. A simple battering ram could take down the front door. It was clear that they wanted to just kill everyone inside the town. I looked around the small council of Battleville. "We have to ambush them before they assault Ethana Town. Us spirits can get out the town without being seen. We'll make our way and slaughter them." I said. It was what needed to be done. After a moment to let it sink in, they gave the go ahead. I gathered all the Blade Spirits and told them the plan. It gave them the chance to kill so they were happy about it. We left at once. Making ourselves invisible was part of being a spirit. Usually, it was part of growing power that you were perceived more by those around you. The inverse was also true for the really powerful or stealthy. It could not conceal us after we attacked them but, by then, it would be too late. We hopped out of the backside of town.
They literally did not see us coming. We were able to pass through the blockade and make our way to Ethana. I made sure that Krit and Shank behaved themselves. The current mission was too important. They simply could not kill the besiegers yet. We did not want them to attack us while we were dealing with the other century. It would fuck everyone up. Once we made it to the second siege I went straight to the trebuchet. I needed to sabotage it and kill the engineer as well as anyone working on it. The others were free to kill as they saw fit. I found them, and it was time to slaughter. Slinging the kunai around, I slit the throat of the one holding the design plans. I hoped it was the engineer. Not that it mattered. Everyone in the area was going to die at my hands. I was revealed to everyone. They yelled in shock, but it was drowned out by the chaos on other places of the battlefield. No help was going to be coming for them. Rook and Knight were with me. We lopped up heads and stabbed hearts. We did it quick and moved back to help clean up stragglers. None could escape us.
Underestimating us was to the detriment of both armies. After we confirmed that everyone was dead, it was time to turn our focus back to Battleville. We all needed to get back inside so we could sally out with the champions. As we were climbing back in, an alarm went out. "The spirits are here! I see them on the walls. Look at the blood drip from them!" one of the soldiers, a half elf, called out. We were covered in blood and viscera. Even those with no mana could see the bloody hand and foot prints we left behind. It sucked, but that was fine. We had the fighters. We just had to get the champions up and ready. It did not take long. In only 5 minutes, they were armed and ready to kill for their homes. From that point, all we had to do was sally out and face the enemy. The guards at the gate opened them up and we rushed out quick. All the soldiers were disorganized and focused on the back. This was a fight from the front. Catching them off guard like this was only to our benefit. I looked at both of my servants. I wanted to try something. "Can I wield you this fight?" I asked.
