Personally, Anna was not concerned about it. Even if they did fabricate something, she would always win the trial by combat and avoid punishment. An invitation came in from Teigan. He was playing as a starter on his school's soccer team. He was a defender. As a sigma, there was nothing getting by him. We all were going to support him. Reilly looked amused when he read it. "He didn't have to send a formal invite. We would have shown up if he just called us." he said. Anna just smiled and said "You know how proper Lord Layton is. He probably put Teigan up to this. All we have to do is write back to him. Or call." Reilly pulled out his phone. "I'm not going out to buy that fancy paper." he sighed. Teigan was really happy to hear that the Iduts were going to attend. "Thank you. I've been practicing a lot." he said. When the day came, all of us from the mansion were there. They were ready to see how a sigma dominated the field. Surprisingly, Prince Colbert, Lady Tilla and Prince Samson were also in attendance. Anna pointed it out to Layton. He just smiled.
Questions died on her lips when the announcer started talking. The teams were introduced and then the anthem played. Teigan was a starter for his team on the left side of the field. Everyone on the field was an alpha. When a play caused the ball to stray into the left side, Teigan kicked it so hard that it flew all the way to the other end of the field. The goal keeper had moved up to see the action closer. It went over his head and bounced into the net behind him. It was insane for Teigan to have scored a goal from that distance. He did it a second time in the latter half of the game. His team ended up winning 6-3. After celebrating with his team, Teigan came over to us. He hugged his mother first. Anna had been whispering in his ear when Teigan was doing something cool on the field. Not only did he score twice, he stole the ball from his opponents and dribbled excellently. Teigan looked over the moon to be praised by Layton. Prince Colbert left without saying anything, but that was to be expected. They were rivals. Lady Tilla and Prince Samson approached.
It was a bit awkward as the stood there quietly. Teigan looked at them cautiously. I announced their arrival to Layton. He frowned deeply. "Ah. I see." Sighing, he tried his best to keep his personal disdain for both Lady Tilla and her son out of his voice. "Lady Tilla and Prince Samson. I am glad you could make it." he said politely. Lady Tilla said "We were surprised to receive such an invitation from Prince Teigan. I thought it might be nice to see you. We probably have a bit to discuss as well." Layton's brows furrowed. "I'm sure what you have to say will be... interesting. Let's reconvene at our residence. We can talk there." That made Anna's eyebrow raised. "Is Teigan not going to be celebrating with all of his teammates, Lord Layton? That's usually where most of the fun in high school can be found." she asked. He gave a big sigh. "That might be true, but it is also where most of the follies of youth can occur as well. He will be returning with us." he said with finality. It was not Anna's place to argue with his parenting style. Teigan would have his cousins to play with.
