Arriving in the central capitol, the northern politicians of both the Upper and Lower houses of parliament greeted them. The Upper House of parliament was exclusively for nobles. Whether they were born a noble or raised to the rank by decree of the party in charge of the government. The Lower house was decided by democratic means. Using proportional representation, the parties got members of parliament seated based on how high the percentage of the popular vote they were able to win per region. There were 5 parties. The Conservatives were the alpha supremacists that also wanted reduced government spending. The Omegan Freedom party was for the politically active omegas of the country. They advocated for the rights and social freedoms of omega citizens. The Labor party looked out for workers' rights. Alphas naturally rose to the top of any hierarchy they entered. With betas and poor omegas being at the bottom, someone had to look out for them. The Shriners were a party of religious extremists. They were the alpha supremacists that wanted spending.

Scythe Party was really popular in the east as that was the bread basket of the nation. Farmers and ranchers were well taken care of by them. There were 250 seats in the Lower House. Each region sent 50 members of parliament who were in charge of a riding. A riding was the name for the electoral district. People voted for party, not for individual people. To get a member in parliament, you needed 2% of the popular vote. For every 2%, the party got to add another member from the ranked list they published along with their manifestos. If each party had a published list of 10 party members, they would need 20% of the vote to get them all in. From 22% onwards, a conference of the regional or national party would convene to decided who would be sent to parliament. The party with a majority of the seats in the Lower House, 126 seats, could chose the prime minister. That was always the leader of the winning party, whether they had a seat or not. If they did not get a majority government, it was a minority government. They would need to form a coalition with another party.

Going on the tour was pretty fun. The alpha supremacists in the Shriners and Conservatives were speaking exclusively to Evan's father, Owen and Kevin. They did not even look at the boys. Labor party members were talking mostly to Anna and Molly as the only betas there. The actual omegas that were the reason that they were there were only spoken to by 3 people. Those were the Lower House members of the Omegan Freedom party. Anna also talked to them. That brought some of the non sexist members of the Labor party to talk to them too. Reid and Rhys were leaning towards the Labor party. They were married with children. Kevin was not getting the lion's share of Bruce's money on inheritance. There were then 4 quadruplets to consider for Kevin's inheritance. They might get enough to be comfortable, but most likely they both would need to work somewhere to support their families. That was what Labor was all about. Ronan and Reilly were not. They did not want to be forced into any mating bonds with alphas. It made them squarely for their Omegan Freedom.
