Frowning, she said "I thought you would be fighting alongside us." I looked at her like she was crazy. "We were betrayed by them after running an ethical and neutral business. We might go to Hell and cut our losses. The loot was more than enough to live comfortably for a while. If you want us to fight them for you, you're going to need more than a place for us to stay." She crossed her arms at us. "What do you fiends even want!?" she demanded. It was easy. "Get some dispensation to let us join in serving Gutono. We incubi are extremely strong wizards. My elemental companions have studied the blade." She scoffed. I frowned. "That's all? I'll ask the clerics." she said. I was relieved. A couple days passed. She returned with good news. A ceremony was prepared. We had to bath in holy water and pledge our allegiance to Gutono in the church. Holy water was like acid to fiends. They were testing us. I had to do the ceremony first. This was my plan. A pool was filled in their basement. Submerging myself, I burned all over my body from their water. I crawled out and made my pledges.

Because I owned Kyle, Myles and Nymorin, they could not refuse it. Kyle and Myles had no problems. Nymorin looked on the edge of death. Grulilan and Zaranarax did not do the ceremony at all. It was a flat refusal. That was all fine with me. Now that the 4 of us were in, we could be part of the faithful that worshipped him. Gutono better appreciate all that. Now that we were members, the clerics and paladins were a bit nicer to us. They were also a bit colder to Grulilan and Zaranarax. The paladin came to us after the ceremony was done. "Now that you are one of us, we are going to fight the demons as siblings in arms." I nodded my head. We were still feeling very raw from the holy water. It was not going to be something we could simply get over. "Tomorrow, we will go to the bathhouse together for a rousing of the spirit. Then we attack at dawn." she informed us. I could get behind it. There was an urge to destroy the ability of the demons to operate in the city. I smiled wide and said "That is good. I can't wait." She smiled and went her own way. Grulilan and Zaranarax looked at me crazily.

They did not see why they would, as fiends, would do something like this. It was very counter intuitive. Looking at them, I said "Sometimes in this life, you just need to go along to get along." I then left it at that. The looks I got told me that it was not going to be understood. At the end of the day, all of them were NPCs here. None of them could get it even if they were told all about it. Wasting time on that would not be useful going forward. What my priority had to be now was Nymorin. He belonged to me and I made him go something like this. Nymorin suffered greatly for my sake and I had to acknowledge what that meant. I cooed at him and complimented him. He was not having it. The incubus hissed at me. All I could do was sit at the edge of the bed and look over him. "It hurts, Wraxix." he said eventually. I nodded my head. "Yeah. I'll be honest with you. Doing this will be crucial for a great future." He looked at me very skeptically. "Why!?" he asked. I smiled and said "It's a secret for now, but I swear you will be the first to know it." I promised him. He really had no choice but to trust me.
