Zapping away our cares with our money and raw strength was what being a fiend was all about. I was sure that the incubi would all be on board with that stuff. We were clearly on a down turn right now. Nothing could negate that we were betrayed. Hollin did not seem like he was going to seek us out. Grulilan and Zaranarax were licking their wounds now. Godhood was out of the question right now. I wished that they could overcome it. They had the trinkets that I gave them. Both also had their share of souls. I asked what they wanted to do. If it was something too crazy, we could part ways. I would have nothing against them. They helped me out at the beginning of the game. They would also be able to do great things on their own. Grulilan and Zaranarax would do well here. They knew how to feed without killing. Both were great wizards in their own right. They also would be good if they went to Hell. As incubi, they could influence lots of devils. There were strong enough to defend themselves from those that would try to attack. Because of this, I was not concerned about the future.
Enemies seemed to be coming for us directly. Demons attacked the house. We had to repel them by ourselves. There was nowhere us left to go. I had no clue how they knew to find us here. When I asked Kyle and Myles, they looked embarrassed. "Bralvan asked for directions a month ago. I had to get the map from the house. He came with us." Myles said. I sighed. There was no way to know they would betray us. I surely had no way to know. That was nothing to get on them about. "Fine. But it's clear that this place is compromised. We have to go somewhere else and lay low." I said. Nymorin asked where we would go. I shrugged my shoulders. I did not know where to go. I then had a wild idea. "You know that female paladin that found out about Zahrelon's true form?" I asked. Kyle nodded. "Yeah. We called you when it happened. It was hard to calm her down. What about it?" I smirked. "I know a place the demons would never think to look and would never attack." I got everyone up and we walked over to the temple for their god of justice. I walked in boldly. There were 8 people praying.
My party followed after me. They were less bold about it. The incubi in particular were very nervous. The air elementals had no reason to be afraid. We did not get too far before a cleric with a mace approached. "Can I... help you today?" she asked through grit teeth. I nodded my head. "Yeah. Our club was burned down because the demons in the city attacked. Then they attacked our home. You should shelter us because that was totally unjust." I said calmly. She just looked at me like I was insane. I was not. This was a test to see if this the followers of this god was going to do something about the demons. "We're not siding with devils in order to get rid of demons. It is a matter of grace that we don't slay you where you stand! Go away already." she said angrily. I shrugged my shoulders. "Those docks have a lot of warehouses. I'd go check them for corruption if I were you guys. But that's just me." Bralvan let lots of things slip while we would hand out. If he leaked our address, I would leak one of their larger bases. As we were leaving, we saw the female paladin approaching the front door.
