Demon slaughtering was probably something that was worth such an advance. Pulling them into a hug, I smiled and said "I'm glad you were able to advance. This is the kind of thing to celebrate." There would be no celebrating in our condition though. Then again, there was something that we could do. We had 1743 souls here. Divided by 6, that was 290 with 3 left over. Leveling up would bring us to full health. The leftover 3 could go to my pet. He also would get 2 from the venue fee that I also still had with me. That meant that my total would be 293 while his was 295. One soul got you 5 levels. That meant we would each have 1450 levels on our hands. Souls were also a currency in the Hells and the Abyss. That was if we ate them all. Divinity in the game started at level 1000. When it came to the big deals and auctions we hosted, I took all 5 souls of the venue fee on the 4th round. My squad all took one of them on the 3rd. This one was the last and the ones that would have earned them were dead now. I was keeping it. After eating 4 of them, I was fully healed. I shot up 20 levels to 141.
Watching me, the other incubi followed suit. It healed them as well. Grulilan and Zaranarax had only had 5 souls in their lives. Grulilan was also not there for the big fight with the soldiers in Hell. They took 4 souls all at once. At this point Grulilan was at level 75 and Zaranarax was at level 84. Nymorin had 5 souls before this. He was now at level 68. They were all NPCs, so they had the standard CR. CR was the challenge rating of a creature. That was the expected difficultly of a party of 4 at a certain level to defeat it. Incubi and incubi had a CR of 4. This meant that a party of 4 level 4 adventurers should be able to defeat one. Therefore NPC incubi spawned in at level 16. I do think it was a bit crazy. All of them were actually much stronger than me when we first met up. Maybe that was why they were so confident in their superiority. I was a good thing that I only went up to whelps. If I had gone up to a mature one, I probably would have been enslaved. Air elementals were actually a CR of 5. That meant Kyle and Myles were level 20 when they spawned in. Their combat raised them up to level 23.
I could see now that their evolution raised them another 8 levels. They were now both level 31. I was totally fine with this outcome, and so were they. I wondered what we should do next. We had our health and a significant amount of wealth. They said that the best revenge was simply living well. We had the resources here to become so powerful that we would be able to annihilate each and every demon in the city. I sighed and looked at Grulilan and Zaranarax. "What do you want to do? We have all the supplies to do anything that we want." They looked at me to explain. "We have so many souls on us, we could do anything. We could destroy the demons here. We could even achieve godhood." I said. They looked at me like I was crazy. "All we need to do is devour these souls and find creatures willing to worship us. That's if we wanted to do that." I explained. They did not seem too keen on that idea. It was an outrageous proposal. That was fine enough. Not everyone wanted to be a god. Just having all the souls made us pretty wealthy. The ton of loot we took did not hurt our positions either.
