12 Noon...
"What was that?" Eve asked seeing me silence a notification on my phone.
"Nothing." I said tossing my phone on to the little table that sat between us. We were sitting on the back patio of the condo in reclining lawn chairs enjoying the warm summer day. I picked up the mimosa next to my phone and took a drink. "You know. Maybe it is time we get our own place." I said looking over at Eve who was wearing sunglasses and a skimpy string bikini.
"Whenever you're ready, you know we have the money." She took a drink of her mimosa. "Hell between my portfolio and your portfolio we could sell a few stocks for a down payment on a nice place, or even just buy a modest place." Eve took another drink. "But I'll let you make the call as to when we do that."
As Eve was talking, the memories in my head finally began to take shape. I could remember Eve moving in with Ryan and myself after she graduated from college. At the time it was a bit odd that I was dating a college girl I had randomly met in the bookstore of my alma mater, but I didn't really care. Eve was straight out of my fantasies and I just brushed off anyone who tried to give me shit for dating a girl 8 years younger than me. I took another drink of my mimosa as I thought about how Eve had taken a part time job as a personal trainer to get out of the condo. "She makes enough money day trading... There's no reason for her to have to work... I know she would never admit it, but the only reason she started working as a personal trainer was so that she wasn't stuck all day in the condo with Ryan..." I took another sip of my mimosa. "Babe I think I'm ready to start looking for a place of our own."
Eve lifted up her sunglasses and her beautiful face lit up. "Really?" She said sitting up in the chair and leaning towards me. Her large breasts strained against the minimalist bikini creating a canyon of cleavage.
My eyes darted from her face, to her breasts, and back to her gorgeous face that was framed by thick brown hair. "I think so. I know you're too polite to say anything negative about Ryan, but days like today when he isn't sitting on the couch playing video games are so relaxing. It's so quiet and peaceful." I briefly pictured Ryan who was currently sitting in his room on his laptop trying to finish up a project that he needed to present to a client Monday morning. "I just..." I paused and studied her beautiful face. "I think it's time we have a nice relaxing place of our own."
Eve smiled and brushed back a long strand of hair. "Well I guess we are on the hunt for a place of our own." Eve took another drink of her mimosa and leaned back into her chair. "I don't dislike Ryan, but..." She took another drink of her mimosa. "He can be a bit much at times..." Eve lowered her sunglasses back down and took another drink. "Ya know if I could just make a couple of small changes to Ryan... He would such a better roommate." Eve said with a chuckle. "Then we could stay here in the condo and I could continue to grow both of our portfolios." Eve let out a sigh.
I laid back in my chair and stared up at a passing cloud. "Do I dare make a couple of potions to use on Ryan?..." I took another drink of my mimosa as I pondered my question. "Our lives are so intertwined... What type of chaos would that unleash?..." I felt a chill run down my spine as the cloud I was watching lazily drifted across the sky.
